The two previous cases where children of long lived monarchs succeeded their parents (George IV & Edward VII) both only ruled for 10 years. Do we even think Charles will make that?

In November he will be 73. Even if he succeeded now (unlikely) he would have to reign until 83 to make it. He also doesn't look very robust.

    Eileen Ash on her 110th.

I feel like soon we might enter an era where there will be no living notable supercentenarians. Not mentioning the ones who might not be the age they claim to be, there are only six notable centenarians born before 1914 currently:

    1. Stanisław Kowalski (1910-) Polish masters athlete and reason why the M105 WMA division was created in 2015, in great condition and potential future World's Oldest Man. The current world's oldest man is only 14 months older than he is.

    2. Marita Camacho Quiros (1911-) First Lady of Costa Rica 1962-1966, widow of Francisco Orlich Bolmarcich (1907-1969). Wheelchair-bound and likely a dementia sufferer.

    3. Eileen Ash (1911-) Cricketer, played seven test matches for England 1937-1949. Declined during the last year, could turn out to be a strong one though.

    4. Jessie Lichauco (1912-) Cuban-born American-Filipino philanthropist, turned her house into a makeshift hospital during WWII, widow of diplomat Marcial Lichauco (1902-1971). Frail and in a wheelchair.

    5. Dagny Carlsson (1912-) Swedish blogger and television personality. Has suffered from lung-related troubles, moved to a nursing home and recently donated her house to a cancer research foundation.

    6. Boris Pahor (1913-) Slovene novelist living in Italy known for Necropolis. Has looked horrible for over a decade, skeletal for the last three years and looked like an eldritch abomination on his 108th last month. However he can still walk.

1914 still has 10 living notable people. Mark my words, atleast one will make it to 110.

1914 has 10 living notable people, while 1913 only 1

Working hypothesis: should the Queen appear on the 2022 list?

    Arguments
    - She is 95 years old.
    - She recently lost her husband.
    - She has been in a hospital "as a precaution" and should continue to take it easy.
    - She has a son who produces nerve-wracking scandals and a granddaughter-in-law who gives frightening interviews.

    - There is still a pandemic going on.

OK, I'll put her on my long-list.

If nothing new comes out until the end of the year, actually no.

Everyone seems very desperate to say this is nothing and she is fine. Obviously something is going on. Fatigue is one thing, but it seems like quite a chain of events no? Since Oct. 20th the negative headlines have been steadily building. Wouldn't be surprised if she retires from official duties in the near future.

She will slow down, but not necessarily retire.

Will she still be alive in two weeks time. Missing the festival of remembrance will be seen by most as if she is seriously ill

I suspect the next massive announcement will be Charles will be doing the speech this Christmas.

If she makes it to January 1st she might well be a contender for the top of the list - imagine if she is still dropped and then dies in January 7th ior something.

It doesn't make any sense to place the queen at the top of the list with the current information.

  7. He approaches 97.

It will take a while before someone breaks his age record.

Biden is already a bit frail, Trump has an unhealthy behaviour.
Probably Clinton or Bush could do it.
