Possibly off-topic but I wonder what the most recent UK sitcom is where every regular is dead? Oh No It’s Selwyn Froggitt (1974-1978) is one.
-
Yeah I think Kissinger is most likely for no 1, and I think Phillips will make it out of 2022 (hope I’m right - love him!).
-
I’m sure this has been mentioned but it’s definitely time for Michael Caine
-
I have had a feeling about Cleo Laine recently.
-
Didn't the BBC report Brian Matthew as dead a few days early? I feel like Jerry Lee may turn out to be a similar deal to that one.
-
Elsie Kelly (86) hasn’t appeared in anything since Benidorm ended in 2018. Of course, there’s been a pandemic since but might be someone to think about.
-
Absolutely ecstatic to see him there. Got me a bit teary, I must admit. This article confirms the scene was shot in Autumn 2021, and William was able to give Radio Times a few words over the phone! https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/doctor-who-classic-companions-interview-exclusive-newsupdate/

Not sure, I just remember either Tom or Steven Moffat mentioning that he revised them in an interview.
-
IIRC Tom was pretty grumpy when he filmed his appearance in "Day of the Doctor" in 2013. He'd travelled to Cardiff over the night and felt only Matt Smith welcomed him, and, because old habits die hard, he rewrote his lines on the fly. Maybe he just wasn't up for it because of that experience?

Let me know if I've got this wrong at all - I'm not amazing with numbers! Incidentally, I really like "Spirit in the Sky". I think it's a great record but I imagine everyone's just sick of it. 33 Freda Payne – Band of Gold 30 Smokey Robinson & The Miracles – Tears of a Clown 26 T. Rex – Get It On -2 26 Dave Edmunds – I Hear You Knocking +1 25 Edison Lighthouse - Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) 25 Jimi Hendrix Experience – Voodoo Chile 25 Dave & Ansel Collins – Double Barrel 24 Rod Stewart - Maggie May -2 24 Simon & Garfunkel – Bridge over troubled water 24 George Harrison - My Sweet Lord 21 Christie - Yellow River 21 Diana Ross – I'm Still Waiting +1 20 Matthews Southern Comfort - Woodstock -2 20 T. Pope Francis seems pretty unlikely to me.
-
I think 2023 will probably be the year for Richard Franklin and (sad to say) William Russell - I think the DL should include at least one of them.
-
It’s not a new pic - the caption says it’s from a Brandi Carlile gig on 14 October 2019.
-
I’ve gone for Cleo Laine last few times, but Stanley Baxter this time. That book definitely seemed like his farewell.
-
Attenborough has received a fair bit of flack in his time for his views regarding overpopulation.
-
Are you having a laugh?
-
funny farm? what year is this?
-
I agree, this one is alarming but none of the other examples posted in this thread are particularly IMO. A lot of it strikes me as confirmation bias. Biden making a joke about public spending is not evidence that his brain is about to explode.
-
I think a good comparison is Paul McCartney. He’s the same age as Biden and nowadays his memory is a little fuzzy and his speaking voice is sorta slurred and imprecise. He repeats himself constantly. He still tours the world and plays long sets though, and there’s no reason to believe he won’t be here in five years time. Biden seems fairly similar - an average 80 year old - to me.

Thanks for posting that Spade (just clocked your name!), I'm a 60s novelty freak but it's new to me.
-
I don't think anyone was saying it was necessarily appropriate, just that it doesn't indicate mental decline.
-
It's a light-hearted comment to draw attention to what he's doing. It's a real stretch to say it has anything to do with any cognitive decline.
-
Another confirmation from his record label. Sad news. He was a giant.
-
I don't think anyone's mentioned this man before - Cledwyn Jones, the last of the vocal trio Triawd y Coleg with Robin Williams (d. 2003) and Meredydd Evans (b. 1919, d. 2015) seems to be still knocking around. Atleast, he was in 2019. Triawd y Coleg became very famous in Wales through BBC Radio in the 1940s. Jones was born in 1923 and might obit in Welsh-language media - which probably isn't much use to most deadpools I suppose.
