If you're referring to this tweet, they link to a Daily Mail article from a few days ago that just mentions him being invited. Amazing if he did go but I doubt the user knows it.

Ignore - beaten to it.

Anybody else weirdly… disappointed? I am not a monarchist but I thought a lot about the Queen’s death before it happened like I’m sure we all did. I expected the death and the media/public reaction to it to feel really uncanny and absolutely huge. It has in fact been pretty boring from the start.

Going for Cleo Laine as I did last month.
-
Friday Night Dinner is bound to get him lots of press too. He was in the tenth anniversary documentary last year.

Aw shame. For some, she's infamous for a somewhat dismissive interview with David Bowie, but she was altogether a very good broadcaster.
-
Cleo Laine this time.

I should have said next 24 hours! That was very quick and it doesn't feel as strange as I expected it to. It is nice to not have a "Prince of Wales" for the first time in my life.

Could this not have been a Facebook post or something.

I’m in the same boat. A few years ago I was sure she’d match her mother and get to 100 but it feels unlikely now when public appearances are limited and up in the air until the day, and she needs to rest after just meeting the PM at her residence in what was more or less a short photo op. The next few years are going to be quite interesting, whatever happens.

I really hope he makes it to 99, at least. I’m always heartened to think of him still about. Had no idea about him still living in his house until the pandemic!

Tbf I have childhood experiences of Paisley too. A very friendly lion, I seem to recall.

Went for Lansbury.

They all look great but Gorrie might be the youngest-looking 90 year old I’ve ever seen.
-
I don’t know - he’s only 77 and seems healthy.

Forgot to mention at the time - Phyllis Kinney, American-born collector, performer and authority of Welsh folk music, turned 100 on 4 July. She is the widow of Meredydd Evans, who was a towering figure in Welsh arts - he died at 95 in 2015. Phyllis lives in a care home nowadays. Unlikely to obit in any major publications but I put her on DDP list for this year anyway. A fascinating person.

My parents weren't born in 1963, but as a kid I asked every adult I knew about Doctor Who. My teacher Mrs Jones watched it from the beginning and also remembered the Monoids.

I remember reading rumours that Farlowe has spina bifida, but never found anything concrete. I'm surprised he's out touring still, he's looked buggered for years.
-
I’m curious - what do we know about his health decline? Is it just that he’s gone very quiet? I met him in 2018. So glad I did. Such a sweet man and very alert at the time.

I think it may be a bit later. Won’t it mostly likely be a supercentenarian born around the middle of the 20s?

I’m sure this has come up before but do you think, in Britain, we’ll have a clear last surviving fighting participant of the British WWII effort when the times comes, like Harry Patch? I’m thinking the lines will be so blurry that the media will probably call a lot of people the last.

We don’t actually know the specific details of the complaint. You don’t know what you’re defending yet, though I understand “whiney woke pussies” is a very easy road to go down.

I don’t think choosing not to have a particular comedian appear at your venue is censorship myself. They can put on who they want and nobody has an inalienable right to appear there.

Huge figure. The architect of Little Richard’s (fairly) successful comeback in 1970, for the rock and roll freaks among us.
