    Hey we're getting closer!

A 22-year-old labourer suffocated to death while another was critical after they got down to clean a sump located in Shivajinagar on Saturday morning.
The contractor who brought them for cleaning ran away on finding the labourers were motionless.

"As bad as that smelled, it was not half as bad as the shit posts on DeathList, particularly the 'Why No Indians' thread," the contractor said in a tweet.

This is a cooked up story in the first place. There is no such casuality in Shivajinagar. I stay near Shivajinagar. 3 hours away. Why do you hate this thread so much? I will soon come up with a comprehensive death list of Indians. Give me some time to do research.

The most important factor, by far, is genetics...:old: since you're a man, you're already at a major disadvantage.

Luck is most important factor. Even if your genetics are strong, you can die anytime in accident or by major illness. Those long living people have learnt the art of survival and also have great luck. For example, the people who died by Coronavirus were unlucky

    Why?

That's a funny story. When i was 4-5 years old i used to think that I will live upto year 3000. Then later i understood it is impossible so came down to 2100. The reason is simple. Living that long implies good health for a long time and good health will come by staying in good environment and being busy in work and having a balanced life. Longevity is a result of many positive factors. Luck is also required. We get to live only once so why not live as long as possible?

  4. Best option is to live upto year 2150. Then i will enter Guiness Book of World Records and my name will be immortal even after my death. 150 years is not a big deal. One year passes very fast on count of 1-2-3

  5. I challenge everyone that I will be the last man surviving from the 20th century. My birth year is 1994.  Will post 'Hi' in this thread on 1st Jan 2120. All the 20th century born would be wiped out by then theoretically. I will be the only one surviving.

I'd say "highly unlikely", rather than impossible. Two epidemics in the 20th century did top that figure, after all - Spanish flu and HIV. And today, although medicine is far more advanced, the population is also much larger, much older, more densely packed, and prone to rapidly travelling around the world than it was in the time of Spanish flu.

Coronavirus is not so deadly. It will be overcome in less than a month's time.

  7. Manmohan Singh can also be included in the list at some point. He is 87 years old now. He is famous in UK as well because he was PM of India

    Couple of thoughts:

    • I personally think Dilip Kumar should have made the list this year
    • Lata Mangeshkar is old sure, but she isn't 90 yet and not ill enough to justify inclusion at the moment - get back to me in two years and i'll almost certainly think otherwise
    • L.K. Advani is astoundingly irrelevant in terms of a UK based list
    • Given the politicians on the list this year, Atal Bihari Vajpayee should maybe have been on the list, but moot point given he's dead
    • Bachchan is too young at the moment, unless the committee is finally listening to my yearly pitch for 'less 90+ oldies, more younger long shots to make it more entertaining'
    • It's a couple of decades too early at the moment, but i suspect if the DL (and humanity in general) still exist when he's old, Tendulkar will be a sure shot inclusion
    • Maybe Kapil Dev in a couple of years? Haven't seen a cricketer make the list yet period, though, so IDK if he's famous enough in the UK
    • Rushdie continues to exist in the 'well he could be assassinated because of that fatwa but he hasn't been yet' space
    • Kingsley's old, give it another 5 odd years and he should make a fair debate topic
    • Maybe you can include industrialists a la the Tatas? Though IDK how much of famous names the individual members are v/s the company named after the family, sooo...
    • I'd probably have more thoughts if it wasn't 1:30 am in India rn

  8. My aim is to outlive all humans born in the 20th century. I want to be last man surviving born in 20th century. I am 25 years old now. I presume that if i live upto the age of 125 I can achieve that goal.

There was someone complaining about no Indians in the deathlist. So here is someone to put:

    • Fauja Singh - 108 years old and oldest marathon runner in the world. Retired from marathon running in 2013.

I don't think he will die in next 10 years. He is that much fit.

Not a huge amount of Indian people are household names in the UK, whether they be stars of chess, cricket, music or sex. And the ones that might be well known enough to be included are far too healthy.

Either that or the committee are massive racists, of course.

I don't think they are racists. Not many 100+ people that might be the reason. Also Indians are unpredictable as far as death is concerned.

  11. Indians account for nearly 20% of world's population. Indians are spread across all nations. There are many Indian actors in Hollywood. Below is a list to name a few.

    https://m.imdb.com/list/ls003265738/

They must be well known in UK as well. I know they are not old enough to be included in Death List. At present I have 3 names in my mind who can be future candidates in the list.

    1) Dilip Kumar (96)

    2) Lata Mangeshkar (88)

    3) L.K. Advani (93)

You guys can come up with more names.

P.S. Amitabh Bachchan can make it, but he is my favourite I don't want him to die. ;)
