    Wrestlers/actors

Abdullah the Butcher around a week ago: Yes, he's in a wheelchair in recent videos and images and looks like he's almost gasping for air, but doing amazing for someone who should've died a decade, two or three ago (hardcore wrestling, Hep C, morbid obesity, the bleeding thing and chainsmoking cigars). Now 82.

Sami Sharaf, Nasser's Minister of State for Presidential Affairs who was arrested and imprisoned during Anwar Sadat's presidency, dead at 93 after being in hospital for months. (Yes, he was born in 1929, not 1925)

Suprised Juraj Jakubisko isn't more talked here. He had a heart transplant over a decade ago after suffering a heart attack and other problems, then broke his leg. In 2021 he spent two months in serious condition with covid and a kidney disease.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2024

Some 20/20 possibilities Solihin G. P. - Indonesian politician and Lt. Gen who was the Governor of West Java 1970-1975. He's been in and out of hospital since suffering a stroke in 2017 and was rumored dead in 2021 when he was ill with covid. 97 this year. Sao Sanda - Burmese royal and last princess of Yawnghwe, 95 this year. Apparently attended the wedding of QEII. Probably not many of those still living. Mohamed Fayek - Nasser-era Egyptian cabinet minister. 94 this year. Sankara Narayana Menon Chundayil - One hell of a name (try saying that), however also called Shri Sankaranarayana Menon and Unni Gurukkal. Indian martial artist, master of Kerala's Kalaripayattu and Padma Shri recipient. Wheelchairbound and quite frail. 94 next month. Jukka Haavisto - Finnish jazz vibraphonist and accordionist. Lyme disease, 93 this year. K. W. Lee - Korean-US journalist. Liver and stomach cancer survivor and underwent a liver transplant 31 years ago. 95 in June. Max Baldwin - Australian Olympic canoeist, 95. Lost the ability to move his other leg due to polio in 1929. T. K. Murthy - 98-year-old Indian mridangam master. Has never really looked very healthy. Wang Huo - Chinese writer and best friend of Ma Shitu. Survived multiple heart attacks a few years ago and every time he makes a public appearance he looks like a different person. 99 this year. Budimir Lončar - Formerly the Foreign Affairs Minister of Yugoslavia, Croatia's own Kissinger still around to tell how things should be done in his opinion. 99 this year. Gazi Yaşargil - Turkish pioneer of microneurosurgery. 98 this year. Ihor Yukhnovskyi - Former Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine. 97. Vija Vētra - Latvian Classical Indian dancer who lives in the US. Appeared in a few episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighbourhood in the 1960s and 1970s. 100 next month.

    Hospitalised!

Russian news sites say Ivan Krasko has been discharged and seems like they're suprised he survived it. Here's an image: He's apparently been in hospital 10 times during the last 2 years. Russia's Leslie Phillips?

    Non-British Royals

He had four visits to Italy last year as mentioned in the Sheikhs thread and also sounds very frail in videos from late last year. Very ill and I doubt he'll see 2024.

    Bodybuilders

Is 1930s strongwoman Relna Brewer McRae of Muscle Beach, US still alive? Unlikely as she'd be 103 now, but she was still alive and in good health back in 2010, so there's a chance. Betty Brosmer is alive. Widow of Mr. Olympia founder Joe Weider. 87 this year. To add one name to Ulitzer's list on the previous page Clarence Bass is alive and 86 this year. Arthur Robin lives in Italy as far as I know.

Why no Indians ever in DeathList?

India's Padma Awards are announced next week. Going to keep an eye on who gets the Padma Shris, lots of them tend to die a few months after being awarded it.

    Mysterious thread…

    1. Who actually killed Olof Palme? 2. Did "Mongolian Stalin" Khorloogiin Choibalsan actually die from cancer? 3. Where's Gedhun Choekyi Nyima? 3.5. And where's Chadrel Rinpoche? 4. What happened to Emmanuel Bodjollé? 5. See above - why do Wikipedia editors keep marking him as living despite everything pointing to him having died around sixty years ago?

    Hospitalised!

Nikos Xanthopoulos out of ICU, "out of danger" and improving I'm very suprised he's alive, he was critical in ICU for a whole month and most of the time intubated! (And two weeks ago his family were "asking for a miracle") I doubt anyone that age can completely recover from that or similar conditions (or even survive more than a few weeks or months - except that Malaysian crooner mentioned a few pages back in September, Abdel Rahman Abou Zahra and Immortals listers), but now we'll see if he actually survives it or has a serious infection that puts him back into ICU during the next week or two.

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

Kazuhisa Ōmura, oldest professional Shogi player, dead at 94 from heart failure. Yukio Miyasaka is now the oldest one. That 83-year-old Shogi professional/pool pick Hifumi Kato has an interesting Twitter account. (https://twitter.com/hifumikato) He loves food and cats and uses a lot of emojis.
  23. Some predictions just so that I can see how good these predictions were in late December. (Probably not very good): - Multiple 99-year-olds will die this year just before reaching their 100th, three weeks or less. Maybe Menahem Pressler, V. S. Achuthanandan, Al Quie, David H. Murdock, Vic Seixas, Yuriko Princess Mikasa, Ashi Tashi Dorji, Santiago Omar Riveros and Rudolph Pariser. - Unexpected deaths: A worldfamous A-lister businessman will die either very suddenly or due to an illness we weren't aware he had. - 2023 will further continue the massacre of old Soviet politicians, watch out Nizoramo Zaripova, Ivan Silayev, Enver Mamedov, Kallibek Kamalov, Boris Pankin, Vera Sidorova, Boris Kravtsov, Nikolai Ryzhkov. - One or two major current Russian politicians will die around May. - A current or former Head of State of an Asian country will be assasinated. - A major religious leader will die - The pope, Patriarch Bartholomew, Kirill or Ali al-Sistani, likely around April-June. - One of the less-expected-by-many-to-die 2023 listers will die in the final quarter the year. Possibly Dick Cheney, DVD, Robert Duvall or Alan Alda. - Mid-2023 will have a flood of those Chinese coffintease politicians dying. - A notable US/UK nonagenarian will miraculously survive a "critical condition" hospitalisation nobody expected them to survive. - Either Joanne Woodward, Carmen Sevilla, Prunella Scales, Jacques Delors, Jimmy Carter or Margarita Terekhova will die in November or December from pneumonia.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

Japanese roboticist Masahiro Mori who identified the concept of Uncanny valley in 1970 is alive and 96 next month. Mentioned by Summer in Transylvania last year. Bonus: British art critic, curator and art gallery director Jasia Reichardt who translated the term to English is also alive and 90 this year. As far as I know not mentioned here before.
