    World's Oldest

New article and picture of Emilio Flores Marquez, world's oldest man... https://www.elnuevodia.com/noticias/locales/notas/emilio-flores-marquez-el-hombre-vivo-mas-longevo-rompe-su-propio-record-cada-dia/ I'm starting to think he won't live to 113 (8th of August)

    Political Frailty

Also the last and also last living Premier of Dominica. In other news, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's first President celebrated his 81st birthday by getting two new statues built of...himself. (https://globalvoices.org/2021/07/06/kazakhstan-celebrates-its-leader-with-two-more-statues/) Here's Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the current (puppet) President unveiling a giant statue of his predecessor, "Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan" Nazarbayev. He's the last one still ruling of the initial leaders of the states created when the Soviet Union broke and unless there's a coup or he's somehow overthrown by his own party, he'll rule until he's dead. Out of the other original Presidents of post-soviet states, a handful of others are still alive: Levon Ter-Petrosyan (b. 1945) President of Armenia from 1991 until his resignation in 1998. Chainsmoker who has or had cancer, still involved in politics. Ayaz Mutallibov (b. 1938) President of Azerbaijan 1991-1992. Probably tried to become a dictator but didn't succeed, Aliyevs took control of the country later. Recently widowed (2019) and lost his son in 2011 to cancer. Stanislav Shushkevich (b. 1934) Leader of Belarus 1991-1994. Askar Akayev (b. 1944) First President of Kyrgyzstan 1990-2005. Overthrown in the Tulip Revolution. Lost a son last year. Anatolijs Gorbunovs (b. 1942) Acting President of Latvia 1991-1993. Vytautas Landsbergis (b. 1932) Head of State of Lithuania 1990-1992. Mircea Snegur (b. 1940) President of Moldova 1990-1997. Like Mutallibov, widowed in 2019. Leonid Kravchuk (b. 1934) President of Ukraine 1991-1994. My prediction is that the last one will be either Nazarbayev, Gorbunovs or Akayev.

    31. Imelda Marcos

I think that's Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr, her son. Could be a Medical Alert System? (https://aging.com/be-safer-at-home-with-a-medical-alert-necklace/) Not sure if Bongbong has his own one or Imelda's one alerts Bongbong.

    Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)

Overweight ancient Finnish composers that I'm not sure will receive an international obit but if any one of these ever happens to die, it'll be front page news in Finland Leif Segerstam (b. 1944) Youngest of this group and recently lost a lot of weight. His heart won't probably last forever having been the same size as George R. R. Martin. The Guardian once made an article about him. Kaj Chydenius (b. 1939) Not in the best health according to himself but keeps working. Jorma Panula (b. 1930) Sexist old guy who thinks conducting some types of music isn't "suitable for women", chief conductor of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra in the 60s and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in the 60s and the 70s. Got the Rolf Schock prize in Musical Arts in the 90s.

    15. Jimmy Carter

Both sound frail and unclear, Jimmy more unclear than Rosalynn. On the good side, both (especially Jimmy) seem sharp for a person their age, as Rosalynn will be 94 in August and Jimmy will be 97 in October.

    Political Frailty

Is this man still alive? I've tried to search for something that would confirm he hasn't died over fifteen years ago but couldn't find anything. San Marino Captain Regents are a pain in the ass when trying to find information about former heads of states and governments as there are two at the same time and the tenure is six months. Out of the few who have English wikipedia pages or wikipedia pages at all, Gloriana Ranocchini and Antonello Bacciocchi (both born in 1957) are both marked dead, Ranocchini appears to have died in 1993 and Bacciocchi in 2007. Couldn't find credible proof of either one having died and wikipedia has marked the death dates as "citation needed".

Threads you will never click on

Most sports-related threads except the Olympics threads. Haven't been a big fan of following a specific sport ever. Philanthropists and some tv-related threads. Out of the threads made for individuals (Don't seem like they're dying and don't know most of them): Gazza Richard O'Sullivan All the perfectly healthy under 75-year olds that have a thread in case they happen to die in some kind of an accident. "Uses/used drugs" type of people and 6ix9nine

    Kenneth Kaunda

Interesting moments: 2:32:55 to around 2:42:18, 78-year old Emmerson Mnangagwa, Mugabe's successor gives a slow and unclear speech mentioning that these are "dark times" for Zambia. 3:13:50 Uhuru Kenyatta's speech starts. He's only 61 but has gained a lot of weight during the last few years. Also a very slow speech with some gaps for thinking. 3:28:20 Edgar Lungu's speech. However I didn't seem to find former presidents Rupiah Banda (I've mentioned that he's 84, has colon cancer and rumored dead at the end of last month, however the government issued a statement saying that he's in good health) or Guy Scott (Only 77, but ailing skeleton with parkinson's)

    Deathless Days

The end of last month had some deaths. Three days of July have passed and the deaths this far have been not-so-notable people of which the only one I've ever heard before was a racehorse. The grim reaper probably decided to take a few days off after dragging Rumsfeld into hell

    Horse Racing

    Out of the currently living older racehorses, the fact that Alphabet Soup (got to 30 in March) is still living suprises me the most. Winner of the 1996 Breeder's Cup Classic (3 million earnings) And also a cancer survivor! Zippy Chippy, known for losing 100 races is also alive and got to 30 in April. Years = "horse age" chart: 10 = 35 1/2 20 = 60 25 = ~72 30 = 85 1/2 (31 = 88, 32 = 90 1/2, 33 = 93, 34 = 95 1/2, 35 = 98, 36 = 100 1/2, 37 = 103)
