Most of them may be dead. They just don't seem to get announcements. The same can be said about national team footballers.

I really wish that regime of cunts comes to an end.

The ones born 1918 are definitely dead as well as Hong Mun-gŏ and Kim Yŏng-gyu if they won't hold a 100th birthday celebration for him in June. Pak Mun-jae was alive in 2020 but looked like a living corpse and there was no 100th birthday celebration last year so I assume he's dead.

Han Chang-ho could be alive, we'll see in May if he gets a similar 100th birthday celebration as Jang Ho did. Sŏk Yong-hwa, the green names born later are likely still alive as a lot of them have gotten media attention in recent years but I doubt they would obit

  3. I wonder if NK media/NK media that reaches outside NK has become worse at reporting deaths during recent years. Especially with minor politicians and unconverted long-term prisoners. See the list on the previous page, I'd say atleast five of the prisoners have died during the last four years without any media attention even though those same types almost always got a mention 15-10 years ago. Would someone like Jang Ho get a mention anywhere if he died? (If he's even still alive, it's been over two years)

  4. Lots of info available on the internet about where some of these Chinese ancients are.

Tu Tongjin is as far as I know a 301 Hospital resident. He seems to have been there for around nine (!!!!) years, he was there already in October 2013 "recuperating" from some illness and was just wheeled out for his 100th birthday in 2014. He was said to have been bedbound in 2016 and again in 2022. Wan Haifeng is also said to be a 301 Hospital resident. It's also the same hospital where Hu Qili was "in a state of dying" in 2018.

Yang You is at the East China/Huadong Hospital. He was there on his 100th, he was there on his 105th.

Yan Mingfu - no idea, couldn't find. Apparently early during Hu Jintao's tenure he was treated for a liver disease by East China Hospital hepatologists.

Zhang Lixiong - When he was very ill he was treated at the Nanjing General Hospital of People's Liberation Army. Not sure if he's there anymore, but that's the same hospital a lot of other Long March veterans have been treated at or are currently treated at, including Min Jingde.

Interesting to think that two of my current Centenarians DP picks are likely currently at the same hospital.

There's been some right royal sagas on DL over the years. "Very ill" "Better" "Gravely ill" "Doing better" "Heart attack and brain explosion" "Only minor brain explosion, on mend" etc etc.

See King Bhumibol, the aforementioned Prince Rainier, Suharto, etc etc etc.

    + The Saudi kings.

Not monarchs, but recent examples would maybe be Prince Phil and that Yuriko, Princess Mikasa? Yuriko was supposed to be pretty much in hospice over two years ago, then later hospitalised again but somehow "fine and exercising frequently" etc etc in 2022.

Also - not so much for health issues but the first few pages of this thread are very...entertaining, if that's the right word

Ilmari Koppinen (b. 1918) Runner and professor. Still active and breaking records as of this month: https://www.sss.fi/2021/07/urheiluhistoriaa-salolaisesta-103-vuotiaasta-ilmari-koppisesta-tuli-suomen-vanhin-urheilusuorituksen-tehnyt-ihminen/

Article about Koppinen becoming the oldest athlete ever in Finland.

Runner/professor/surveyor Ilmari Koppinen 105 today. Still indestructible, doesn't walk as much as he used to but lifts 6kg dumbbells every day and still writes.

Joseph A. Hardy III turned 100 today, then died several hours later.

Not really sure if it was expected or unexpected. Nemacolin's site said him making it to 100 "proved nothing is impossible" but I think it could've also meant his habits, cigars alcohol etc more than his at-the-time condition as some articles also had the mortality-denying "we look forward to many more years with the lumber lord" stuff. However his health decline was pretty fast considering he was in amazing health in early/mid 2022.

  8. In my opinion she looks frail compared to that July appearance. But on the other hand she's "only" 93 and as far as I know does not have any serious chronic illnesses, I think she could live another few years.

Juan Ponce Enrile, the guy in the glasses, really doesn't make any sense. He survived pneumonia twice last year and is 99 next month. Yet he hasn't aged much since the 80s and is a member of the current Cabinet of the Philippines.

  9. NOT dead.

The shoe hoarder made an appearance at Marcos "justice minister" Estelito Mendoza's 93rd birthday party two days ago:

    marcos.thumb.png.4f76e46e50578e988a1f6ee1cf3b3e64.png

Here with BBM, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile (how does he still look that good?) and some random people, no Cesar Virata anywhere (probably couldn't fit through the door)

Imelda looked pretty frail with a purpleish leg in some pictures, seemed pretty confused in most of the pictures and her legs are skeletal as seen in the image, but that Estelito Mendoza still managed to look worse.

  10. Johnny Macknowski, Russian-born US basketball player and as far as I know the second-oldest living NBA player after Whitey Von Nieda, is 100 today.

Joseph A. Hardy III, US billionaire businessman, founder-CEO of 84 Lumber and Nemacolin Woodland Resorts, 100 today. As far as I know he's now on oxygen but not bad for a larger guy who holds a cigar in half of the pictures taken of him.

Héctor Mayagoitia Domínguez, decrepit Mexican chemical bacteriologist and politician, former Governor of Durango, former Director of the National Polytechnic Institute, 100 today.

  11. Going through the ayatollahs and other religious leaders.

Google says Wahid Khorasani died on his 102nd birthday a week ago. Can't find any confirmation, seems fake.

Abbas "seriously ill in 2016" Mahfouzi has made some statements recently again recently since that one other ancient ayatollah died. Miracle that he's still alive, with Makarem Shirazi, Rahmati Sirjani, Shubairi Zanjani, al-Fayadh...

Iraqi cleric Sayyid Murtadha al-Musawi al-Qazwini has been rumored dead recently. Looks absolutely ancient but I don't know if he's ill.

Ayatollah Ahmad Beheshti apparently made an appearance recently. Still holds some positions, but looks ancient:

    beheshti.thumb.jpg.2832550e062a7f42efefa2711d20a3a5.jpg

Guy next to him seems a bit scared, will the Ayatollah accidentally cut his fingers off or not?

Since the death of that 102-year-old hindu nun whose name I can't remember right now (see the last page), the SriSarada Math hasn't had a President, VP Anandapranaji is probably too frail to become the new Pres. Half-dead ISKCON boss Jayapataka Swami was wheeled around somewhere a few weeks ago, no idea how he's still alive.

Thich Thanh Tu made an appearance a few days ago, looked as frail as always.

Daisaku Ikeda, 95 a few days ago, hasn't been seen in over 3 years, he's rumored to either already dead or on his deathbed with his legs amputated a few years ago suffering from severe dementia or something similar. However, nobody seems to know the truth about his condition.

Not much to say about the Orthodox leaders. Advanced parkinsons sufferer Ilia II of Georgia just turned 90, indestructible like Simeon Jakovlevic, Archbishop Demetrios, Filaret of Ukraine and Anastasios of Albania who survived both a serious heart attack and covid in 2020.

Dov Lando (1930) Leader of the Slabodka yeshiva institution. Fall in 2018, survived covid (omicron) in January 2022. Obese.

Dov Lando again ill with covid for the 90th time and couldn't attend Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi's wife's memorial thing. He looks ancient as hell nowadays. Yaakov Aryeh Alter and others from the list were there but none of them looked particularly frail, all of them just looked like they probably fell asleep after the pictures were taken.

    Meanwhile...

  13. Indonesian islamic cleric/immortal KH A. Yafie recently sick according to this, but, you know, already improving according to another article and the main topic of this article is that he's a fan of a football club. However they said he's in good health, but I'd say someone who has been bedbound for around a year isn't in "good health"
