I don't know, seemed pretty easy to miss him on this side of the pond. I thought I'd dug to pretty low depths of British fame in the past for DDP but would've never dreamed a counselor for a ward with barely over 10,000 people in it would be pickable.

    Shove Off, Eh?

Character actress Jean Freeman, who played "Fitzy's Grandma" on beloved Canadian tv series Corner Gas, dead at 89

    Golf: The 19th Hole

Who played on tour? Possibly. I'd imagine there's a teaching pro out there somewhere who's 100 or older. Just over 6 months ago golf still had 4 major champions over 90. Down to 1 now. The deaths of Don January (May), Betsy Rawls (October), and now Jackie Burke leaves just Kathy Cornelius (who won the 1956 US Women's Open). Joyce Ziske (won the Women's Western Open in 1960, when it was still considered a major) will turn 90 in May, if she makes it. The oldest living major champion on the men's side is now Gary Player who just turned 89 eight days ago.

    HARE'S DEATH POOL 2024

Well, I don't think you'll ever have an issue with the third one participating. Like I said a few posts ago: That was the username I originally tried to go with but you can imagine my frustration in find it was in use but not actually in use... and never was. Does the site ever do sweeps of these type of inactive squatters? That particular name was created in 2011 and has not a single whisper of activity since it's creation.

I could swear he's referring to this game.... the one we're in the thread for. I'm aware my DDP name doesn't have to match my forum name.

    HARE'S DEATH POOL 2024

Not that it would help much but I originally wanted a "The" in front of my username but there's someone who has never actually participated in the forum squatting on that username... so just imagine if this non-entity decided to rise from the grave and join the pool too

    Derby Dead Pool 2024

It's extremely hard to get uniques these days, without them being just random olds. Thought Lem Barney might be a unique this year but a few others took him. Did get a couple uniques thru, though: Main team: Tathiana Garbin, Rip Micheals B-team: Sandy Campbell, Michael Turner, Avalon Young Golf theme team: Barney Adams, Al Barkow, Doc Giffin, Carl Jackson, David Joy, Verne Lundquist, Jill Thornhill, Bob Toski (joker), Tiger Woods

    Seen Any Good Films Lately?

To those who don't mind reading subtitles I highly recommend Godzilla Minus One. Excellent piece of cinema that rises well above it's genre.

She enjoyed skinny dipping, skinny skiing, and going to bull fights on acid. RIP Lacey Underall.

    Internet Celebrities

Not an assessment of value, just the honest answer: One creates their own content and hopes metrics deliver while the other is paid to create content for an audience that already exists

    Internet Celebrities

and probably Bill Gates' dad or that Captain Whosit Whatsit, that everyone insisted was so famous last year, but there's no way I'm trusting internet metrics as an accurate measure of anything

    Internet Celebrities

The biggest Barczyk oddity is what passes for a celebrity on the internet. Sure, his "goodbye video" sits at just under 660k views... but the internet has 5.3 billion users. Might just be a middle-aged man yelling at clouds here but seems the bar for internet-only fame should be a lot higher than real-world fame. Emphasis on "a lot".

    Derby Dead Pool 2024

I did forget to factor in Joker points to my previous work. The hypothetical team would've gone from 83 to 90 points and finished 11th in an unusually low-scoring year.

    Derby Dead Pool 2024

I suppose. Back when I spent far more time delving into the math of DDP, it became apparent that a hit in this age bracket was as bad as a complete whiff in most others. A team comprised of nothing but 100 year olds, in which every single pick dropped dead, would've only scored 83 points (assume Johns went after her birthday). Scoring was abnormally low last year so that would've netted a T13... which I guess would be meaningful to someone somewhere.

    Derby Dead Pool 2024

It's just such a useless age bracket for the playing of the game, even with the potential bonus.

Would seem a bit embarrassing if a 100 year old was drop 40

    Israeli Targets

Got to 15 names but I couldn't locate my Hamas roledex in time to find another 5 "minor ones"

    Israeli Targets

I would have... had I found enough other notable Hamas names to fill a 20 member theme team
