The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous
Salmon Mousse replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
He certainly doesn't fit in this particular thread. Pretty well established character actor who played one of the most beloved characters on a tv show that ran for 15 years. -
March 3

Voted Yoko just for the hell of it. I'm always wrong anyway.
-
Tony Bennett, for no particular reason

Leave Drop 40 as +3, increase Unique to +5 (problem with going higher is that random olds are the most likely to be unique, these days, and I don't feel picking random olds shows a great deal of extra effort), and then adopt something similar to what's done over at alt obits: reward a pick that only two teams share with a +4 and a pick that only 3 share with a +3. The numbers can be adjusted but this would be my basic proposal.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Predictions
Salmon Mousse replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Jethro Tull still with zero nominations. Joke hall fittingly housed in the mistake on the lake. -
When Anita Pointer died on the 31st I asked Rolf Harris be her substitute. On January first I made it clear that I was fine with the top two names on my sub list (Mirisch and Gala) going in for the recently deceased Walters and Benedict. The roster was finalized clearly at that point. While I somehow missed the request you sent, later on on the 1st, to repaste my list it didn't change anything about the team. Even with my missing the message (which yes, I did apologize for) the response, which clarified in bold each substitution that had been previously finalized, weeks before was itself sent well over a week ago (the 18th to be precise).

Thought this was all already clarified, ages ago, before your last PM asking to post the team to the forum. Can't say I'm not slightly annoyed.
-
I've made too many idiotic reading comprehension errors born from laziness. Glossed over the basics in favor of researching names. My apologies. Maybe I'll finally have the basics of this down by late December... when I'll no longer have any time to research.

I do see an error with my theme team "The DOA Tour": Designated Peter Oosterhuis as my joker in the email submission but the site has the joker icon next to Al Geiberger instead.

Was Jeanette Lee D40 last year? Can't remember.
-
Well, I see that the only two picks I had hoped would be unique aren't and also that Tilson Thomas somehow isn't Drop 40, which essentially makes him a worthless pick. Better luck next year, I guess. DiMeglio not being a solo really pisses me off, though.

I can't imagine much more tragic than having Denny's as your final meal
-
Only now that you mention it. Perhaps I need to start sleeping. I imagine my brain might work better on rest.

Comedian and former Second City performer Michael Lehrer dead at 44. Decided to go the medically assisted suicide route 6 years into ALS.
-
Well, in an effort to once again blow my wad way too early, I've already had my third hit: comedian Michael Lehrer at 44 Joins McGarvey and Vialli. Also noticed I forgot to designate a joker in my team submission PM. I assume this means the first name I listed is taken as joker?

Still a bit perplexed by Diane, admittedly.

First Celebrity Death You Remember
Salmon Mousse replied to The Daredevil's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
You know what, I'm going to have to change my answer to this. Remember hearing it on the radio while being driven home from school. -
First Celebrity Death You Remember
Salmon Mousse replied to The Daredevil's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
This thread is making me realize just how poor my memory is. Perhaps I just didn't pay any attention to the news as a child. First I can remember, of the top of my head, is Frank Sinatra in 1998, when I was 13. Oddly, I actually do remember a lot of the O.J. trial, which was several years earlier. -
Well, either way, I'm already feeling left behind
-
Presumably, he's jumped off to a nice early lead
-
Was going to include him on a Pittsburgh-area theme team but decided to scrap the whole team at the last minute. Sad day, though, as he was an area institution. One of those guys who you thought would just be around forever. Back when he hosted a PGA Tour event at his resort he always treated everyone, including us volunteers, like kings.
-
Don't worry, he'll be 63 next year.
-
or, you know, not been included on the list, at all.
