I wouldn't exactly trust Dalgleish to be impartial on this issue, during the height of the pandemic he lobbied for certain companies to be given contracts for the vaccine whilst holding shares in those companies plus he has repeatedly claimed that organisations that have disagreed with him are controlled by China, to the extent where he tried to get the UK government to spy on certain scientific organisations. Bearing in mind, he has also previously worked with right-wing lobbying groups and was a UKIP parliamentary candidate in 2015, I would say he would be very biased. Plus John Campell has a reputation for spreading misinformation on his Youtube channel, and would never be my go to source. It's one very complex, multifaceted theory, something that hasn't properly been disproven but also hasn't been 100% confirmed, and within that theory there are disagreements on if it was accidental or not, the intentions behind it and collaborators.

With the local elections fast approaching, this morning a leaflet was delivered to my door outlining all the candidate's pledges and the such, most of it was pretty standard stuff but the penultimate candidate was an independent who had 3 top priority pledges one of which was to stop any further lockdowns. Firstly it's 2024 I genuinely don't think I've heard the word lockdown in at least a year, it's hardly a relevant issue and secondly does a mayor even have the power to do that. Reading the rest of his manifesto he's just nicked a lot of the Reform party's ideas, so I assume he's either delusional and thinks that we are still at the height of the pandemic or is trying to get the votes of those delusional conspiracy brain nutjobs, or possibly a combination of the two.

Earlier today one of my friends reminded me of a mistake I made a few years ago. For context for one of my A-levels I studied British Politics from 1951-2007, with a key part of that being the troubles in Northern Ireland. One time I came into class and the teacher had put a collage of significant people from the course on the wall, one of whom was Gerry Adams, I sat there for the next five minutes staring at this display wondering why there was a picture of Rolf Harris on the wall. Rowena Cooper (b.1935) - Retired from onscreen acting last decade, hasn't done any voice work recently, lost her husband of just shy of 60 years in 2023. Barbara Knox (b. 1933) - Her role as Rita in Corrie has been massively scaled back in the past year, very slow on her feet nowadays and is looking quite thin. Quentin Blake (b.1932) - Wasn't looking the best in his 2021 BBC special and hasn't been seen much since.

I've just watched Scoop on Netflix, the new film about the Prince Andrew interview. It was fine, well directed but Billie Piper as the lead character is just a bit boring, she puts in a fine enough performance but there was nothing for me to connect to. It also felt weirdly sympathetic towards Andrew at points and I don't know if that was intentional. There's a solid ten-fifteen minutes of just recreating the actual interview which is near perfect but at that point you might as well just watch the real thing, in fact that probably applies to the entire film, just watch the original news-night special instead.

Keith’s career in country music started in 1993 when he released his first, self-titled, album that reached no.17 on the US country charts, with his single ‘Should’ve been a Cowboy’ reaching no.1 on the country charts and going 3 times platinum. In 2002 his seventh studio album ‘Unleashed’ became his first no.1 album on the regular US Billboard charts, a feat he achieved a further 3 times throughout his career. On the US country charts, in total Keith achieved 20 no.1 singles and 9 no.1 albums. A multi-talented man, he sometimes ventured into acting, opened his own chain of restaurants called ‘Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill’ and was a staunch supporter of the US Republican Party. In 2022 Keith announced that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer towards the end of the previous year and was undergoing treatment. Following his passing for the disease in February, Keith has been posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He was making his first appearance on the Crowdsourced Deathlist, at no.28.

A Place in the Ground 3/50 2nd February 2024 Longtime TV presenter Jonnie Irwin has died aged 50 after a 4 year long battle with cancer. Irwin’s TV career started in 2004 when he landed the role of co-presenter on Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun and filmed 100s of episodes for the programme until he was fired in 2021, he claims that they had sacked him due to his illness. His other most well known presenting gig was on BBC’s Escape to the Country, which he worked on starting in 2010. In 2020 Irwin was diagnosed with lung cancer and reportedly was given 6 months to live. In 2022 he went public with this information, reiterating that he hasn’t got long left. However to every deathlisters delight he continued to confound the odds and spent every waking moment talking to the press about how he wasn’t going to see Christmas (he never said which one). At the end of January he spent a week in hospital and was sent home on the 27th, where he died the following week. He was making his second appearance on the Crowdsourced deathlist, this year at no.10.

Dead Kaiser 2/50 7th January 2024 Franz ‘der Kaiser’ Beckenbauer, who has died aged 78, was often cited as one of the greatest footballers of all time. Aged 14 he was signed for the Bayern Munich youth team and was eventually promoted to the main team in 1964. The same year he was signed to the West German national team’s youth squad and was quickly promoted to the main team in 1965. He played as a central midfielder in the 1966 World Cup final against England, a match that England famously won. In the 1970 quarter-finals, Beckenbauer was one of three German players to score and beat the England squad, however West Germany was knocked out by Italy in the semis and placed 3rd, beating Uruguay in the play off. By 1974 he was the captain of the national team and led his country into the World Cup, where they beat the Netherlands 2-1 in the final. He hung up his boots in 1983 and began managing the national team the following year, a role he held until 1990. In the lead up to the 2006 World Cup he helped Germany’s successful bid to host, which caused him to be investigated for fraud in 2016. Throughout 2023 reports of his failing health circulated that lasted up until his death. He was making his first appearance on the Crowdsourced Deathlist, at no.25.

Johns’ last appeared on stage in 1998 and onscreen in 1999, retiring from acting aged 76. In recent years most conversations about Johns haven’t revolved around her long career, rather they have focused on her longevity. She outlived all four of her husbands by 14 to 46 years and one of her children. In 2020 she became the oldest living Academy Award nominee for acting. She turned 100 in October 2023, with many calling for her to receive a damehood for her services to acting, something which alas was unable to happen. For anyone who has been following what's going on with Lorna Laidlaw, in tonight's episode of Coronation Street her character Aggie has quit her job, left her husband and won't be returning despite her onscreen reason for being absent no longer applying, with all of this being conveyed through other characters, it's now been about a year since she would have done any filming for the show and hasn't been heard from since.

To defend TQR on this, getting people to define terms like those is important when trying to understand their viewpoint, level of understanding and how to respond. Even simple things like left or right wing get thrown around as buzzwords with very little meaning nowadays. People like Joe Biden often get called a socialist, and I can guarantee that 99.99999% of people who say that do not know what Socialism actually is and are just repeating what they have been told.
