  1. As I wasn't here when Diana died, I'd have to say John Peel.
  2. I've long been a supporter of the demise of Sir John Mills. He's far too old and takes up valuable air. Personally I was hoping he'd shuffle off before the Pope, who was a mere stripling compared to SJM. Beyond that Gerald Ford would be an ideal candidate for list-topping wioth Edward Heath following in his wake.

    Pope John Paul

Yippee!!! I mean, how terribly sad

    Pope John Paul

Lost concoiusness apparently. I'm about to as well. Hopefully they'll be better news in the morning.

    Pope John Paul

I wouldn't trust Sky, they're just a mouthpiece for Rupert Murdoch. Perhaps if he grew tits and changed his name to David Beckham on his deathbed their reports might carry a little more respect. Personally I won't believe it until the BBC say so. I just wish he'd hurry up. I've got to get up and go to Woolworth's tomorrow morning.

Is this some sort of race he has on with Prince Rainier? Who can get to the Pearly Gates first? My monies on JP2 as PR looks like he could struggle on for a bit yet

    Jose Canseco

Having vaguely heard the name somewhere, wasn't he once portrayed in a Simpson's episode, I had a look and found his website http://www.canseconet.com/ "February 26, 2005: The remaining dates of Jose's Book Signing Tour have been postponed due to a death threat." So not beyond the bounds of possibility then. I'm rooting for the hitman myself.

    No-one Waved Goodbye ... yet

Had emergency brain surgery now. Things aren't looking too good are they? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/4311119.stm

    Pope John Paul

Seems the doctors are now "considering" an operation. Doesn't look good, hopefully. If he get away with it this time it'll be a scandal.

    Pope John Paul

Do I hear the sound of a sythe sharpening?
  13. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/arts/4282865.stm Topped himself. Wonder if he's written a book about it?

    Cyril Fletcher Is Gone :+(

As Esther Rantzen use to say "And finally Cyril.." I thought he'd gone years ago for some reason, but perhaps he'd just pulled a Gascoigne

    Lord Scarman

Come on people! He's on this year's list and he's just stiffed out! List members are ticking themselves off and your're all wondering whether Shakin' Stevens is much longer for this world. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4083501.stm By the way RIP your Lordship [merged from main forum - DWB]

    Darrell "dimebag" Abbott

Ironic really that one of Pantera's better known songs was "Cemetary Gates"

No lucky dime in his pocket then?

    Emlyn Hughes

Missed the ball, kicked the bucket instead. He was on the second football card I got when I was a kid in the 70's. The first was Eddie McReadie, which is why I became a Chelsea supporter. (In hindsight a good choice these days). Has anyone noticed celebrities are dropping like flies in the last few days?

    Fred Dibnah

Well I liked him, but he was a celebrity and is now dead. Which is the whole point of this forum. Wonder if he'll be buried in his own mineshaft?

    Lynda Lee-Potter

    Rather an unexpected one http://news.bbc.co.u.../uk/3759786.stm
  22. There's still a few weeks left of 2004. I reckong he's a better bet to stiff out before the end of the year than the Pope or Sir John Mills

    John Peel

For once I'm actually quite shocked and saddened. John Peel was unique and never let age get in the way of his love of new musical trends. Perhaps we could start a Celebrity DJ Deathlist in his honour. I'll start the ball rolling with Alan "Is he still breathing?" Freeman and Tony "the bastard never paid me for washing his car" Blackburn. RIP John

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

After this should he be added to next year's list? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/3761748.stm (Merged from separate posting. Please utilize "search" function to avoid redundancies. Thanks, TH)

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

I'd like to nominate Sir Edward Heath for 2005. He'll be 89 next year and well beyond his sell-by date.
