  1. Dead Grandmother?

    Abdelbaset Al-Megrahi

2020? I see abombervision This is hardly the right sort of cheer on the 4th...... Chin, chin and happy BBQ'ing to the US based DL'sters
  2. Dead Grandmother?

    Frank Bough

Can we not have Frank's subtitle as 'Heading for a Grandstand finish?' Many a good childhood memory of Saturday afternoon's spent with the balding genius.... Cheers DG? Kick the Bucket 2009 CHAMPION
  3. Once again, MPFC, you have lured me into posting. As King of the NY appreciation society, I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments. Live, the man is a genius. In fact, his new live film, directed by Jonathan Demme, Trunk Show, is from two phenominal nights in Philadelphia, back at the end of 2007. I was lucky enough to be at one of the nights. Trunk Show (IMDB) And the Doves sound better than ever on their 4th album. Can't wait to see them play in Philly in June. So to the dude going to Glasto, just pray it doesn't rain like the weather debacles of 1997 and 1998. We justified back to back Glastonbury's, as we KNEW '97 was an anomaly and '98 was going to be perfect fine for weather. As usual, we were wrong. The Mud Fest of 1998 was even worse. Neil Young cancelled in 1997, which p*ssed me right off, but he was forgiven at a later date, with a smile and a handshake....the storms and conditions of Glasto '98 still linger large, and I've not been back since. this year's line-up is TASTY though....

    Seve Ballesteros

More like pushing up the daisies on the 18th green of Royal Birkdale. Captain Seve Golf legend Seve Ballesteros has targeted the European captaincy at the 2010 Royal Trophy, his nephew revealed. Ballesteros, 51, winner of five major titles, is recovering following several operations to remove a brain tumour. Nephew Ivan Ballesteros, who drove him to hospital when he collapsed at Madrid airport in October, said the weeks that followed were like a "horrible dream". But he added: "He's very positive, one of his goals is to be captain at the Royal Trophy, he's serious about it." His nephew said: "It's still too early to tell if he will play again but he's walking every day and he's determined to get better." Looks like the 14th hole may still be filled at the year's end.....

    Betty Ford

This inspiring event honored President Gerald and Mrs. Betty Ford with the third annual Spirit of the Desert Award for their long association and support of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church and its charity, Episcopal Community Services. More importantly, it raised much-needed funds for ECS which provides medical, social, housing and many other services for individuals and families in crisis. Former first daughter Susan Bales Ford accepted a lovely crystal bowl and tribute book for her mother. She thanked everyone and said that her mother was in very good health but, at 90 years of age, “she doesn't attend many functions but she loves hearing about them.” http://www.mydesert.com/article/20081123/L...LES09/811230333 I can just picture the scene... Betty - "So how many 'potentials' do we have for the clinic" Susan - "Plenty, mother, plenty....it was a free bar, just as you planned..." <evil laughs>

    Hello Www.deathlist.net! Where Is Rules?

The first rule of Deathlist is....you do not talk about Deathlist. The second rule of Deathlist is...YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT DEATHLIST.
  7. Dead Grandmother?

    The Dead Of 2008

He must be pretty confident of winning the election, his grandma must be pretty ill, or both. Barack's grandmother, with masterful timing, has died. I'm sorry....did you miss the meeting about Dead Grandmothers? If Devon Miles ever kops it.....LOOK OUT.
  8. Dead Grandmother?

    Ariel Sharon

He seems admirably qualified to take up the job of manager at Newcastle United. Sharon: Still alive, but only just. http://abcnews.go.com/International/story?id=6118826&page=1 Which is more than can be said of the Cockney's Army's chances of staying up. Sorry Toon Army...... I wish he would hurry up.....2 months to go...2 points behind. <annoyed>
  9. Mr Young is currently playing the last 6 nights of his US tour. I saw the Philly show last week (Sunday, 9th December) and what an absolute treat. An hour and a quarter of accoustic perfection, including 'Ambulance Blues', Sad Movies' 'A Man Needs A Maid' 'Mexico' (a new song) 'No One Seems To Know' 'Harvest' 'Journey Through The Past' 'Mellow My Mind' 'Love Art Blues', 'Campaigner' and the always phenominal 'Cowgirl In The Sand'. A REAL hard core set.....then followed it up with a raging hour and a half electric set, including perenial faves 'Like a Hurricane' 'Cinnamon Girl' and the slightly more obscure 'Bad Fog Of Loneliness' 'Winterlong' 'Oh, Lonesome Me' and the 20 minute rock out of newbie 'No Hidden Path'. What a night. Shame my 'Kick the Bucket' lead has gone. Someone had an unknown, named Elijah Page, as a pick, who was a 25 year old inmate on death row. So 75 points later and a failed protest (this person does not fit into the 'rules'), I am now down by 7 points with only 2 weeks left. <annoyed>. I wouldn't have minded, but thee pick was SO OBSCURE, the guy died in July, and the person who picked him only realised three weeks ago. FIVE MONTHS LATER. The people running the pool just don't want a certain Dead Grandmother winning back to back titles. I am the new ENGLAND Pats of DPs. Time to unplug Ariel.
  10. Which Dead Pool? Why our little US based one.....where we get 100 points - the person's/victim's age. Adds a little depth. http://pbowman.home.comcast.net/picks.html Now here's a dilemma, would a Rustie pick Neil for a deadpool? Couldn't.....(although it would soften the blow)....it is, after all, better to burn out than fade away, n'est pas? I'll confess to years of admiration of the great man, his attitude could teach us all a lot. More the refusal to compromise and the will to go with instinct, 62 in November and that - LOL funny - stroke of making a sequel to a bootleg. Along with finally sticking Ordinary People on summat you can buy in the shops. Met him once, genuinely nice guy. As a side note, i've been lurking on this site for nearly two years now. Much merryment and mirth, from such a sombre topic. I hate you Kyle.
  11. "Absolute class this one. He's releasing a sequel to his classic 1977 album Chrome Dreams called Chrome Dreams II. Only - as any Neil Young fan will tell you - he never released Chrome Dreams. It's a bootleg classic, and an album loads of us have made up on CD by burning on all the Chrome Dreams tracks - Like a Hurricane, Sedan Delivery - which he subsequently stuck on other albums. Having provisionally scheduled the album and then changed his mind. Oh yeah, and he's touring. Unlikely that the health problems are that bad, then." Wow, who knew MPFC was a Rustie. The Archives box set is due for a February 18th 2008 release...just 8 CDs, 3 DVD's and a 160 page book...however the good news (sorry better news) is that it only encompases 1962 - 1971. I'm off to Farm Aid, with my 10th row seats to see God, sorry Neil, play. Roll on Chrome Dreams II with Ordinary People and potentially 0 to 60..... And a potential 6 week accoustic tour. All I need now is to keep my lead in the DP I am in, and voila, a little slice of heaven all around Cheers The Eric Cartman Fan Club

    George Melly

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6301957.stm[/url] (George) Melly Velly Unwelly Speaking from their home in Shepherd's Bush, west London, his wife, Diana Melly, 69, said: "I believe he became dehydrated during the performance and just collapsed. He has been taking some new medication and I suspect it might have something to do with that." The Liverpool-born entertainer and writer has been suffering from health problems including emphysema and lung cancer. Glass of water = new cure for the Big C, anyone?
  13. Dead Grandmother?
