    48. Shane MacGowan

He can't breathe that deeply, they might well have filmed him at his very best that day and you can't see the state of his internal organs. Still think the announcement of his sudden death would surprise nobody!

    The 2021 Deathlist Cup

Re the masterlist: I'm the only one with Boutelfilka - what do the rest of you know about his improving health? I'm amazed he made May tbh.

    The 2021 Deathlist Cup

Aye cheers, prior to this year if memory serves me correctly I'd only ever won one round of this competition properly (i.e.: other progress was by byes). I'll keep giving it a go but Spade is class on current form.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

Aye, and a website that includes evidence he still retains the services of an agent and is available for video greetings - maybe he should be employed in the latter capacity to promote the next DLCon Site: http://www.freddiedavies.com/

    Widow(er) Shopping

Well, it's over 24 hours since I started a thread so... The death of Mrs Ralph Vaughan-Williams was a timely reminder of the existence of widows much younger than their more famous husbands and wives. I think it's time we pooled our knowledge on those obit-worthy if low-profile survivors. The likes of Imelda Marcos, Betty Ford and Nancy Reagan are already on the DL radar. Let's limit this collection to those out of the headlines but still obit-worthy to DDP standards and beyond. I'd wager the following brace would score, even by the exacting standards of the CPDP. Step forward, Bing's bed-steady: Kathryn Crosby and Prime Minister's poetess partner: Mary Wilson.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2022

If we assume Putin doesn't have a reverse gear I'm wondering whether Alexei Navalny is one to watch. More a random collision of fucked immune system and the threats hanging in Russian prison air than anything else. Predictably, he looks like shit atm: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-56919934
  12. Given the public hair shaving and breakdown it's probably about time we gave her a bespoke thread. A few points to consider: Despite the current problems she is very rich, her pre-nuptual agreement became public property when it was advanced as evidence ahead of her most recent divorce case. The agreement made a few things plain including the fact her current contract is surprisingly generous, she pulls around a quarter of a million dollars a gig and her record company project earnings of a around four and a half million dollars an album for years to come. In other words, her manager negotiated a better deal than many believed possible and Sony/BMG must be filling their collective trousers at the moment. Meaning, probably, she'll get all manner of help because the alternatives could impact on their share price. Having said this Anna Nicole Smith's death shows what's possible in the other direction. Personally, I'm betting that - at 25 - she pulls through, slowly but surely. What does anyone else reckon.

    Boris Johnson

Indeed, a conversation I was having a couple of days back after one commentator suggested he'd be there after winning the next election and I suggested he wouldn't be there at Christmas. Johnson rose on the certainty that pragmatic Conservatives would appoint someone they considered capable of winning an election regardless of misgivings about his character. The moment they think he's incapable of getting them elected next time he might discover his "friends" are too busy trying to back, or be, the next winner to support him. Anyone seen Michael Gove come out to back Boris yet?

If it is that's because Boris regards his life as a long strange trip!

Aye, you'd have got long odds on that during the worst days of his alcoholism. The oldest member of the crew as well.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2022

So, caught the end of Greta Thundberg saving the planet before watching Boris on the news denying there's owt wrong with his relationship to the truth. Could Greta do with a couple of big bags of chips, or what - bit of the old lollipop face going on there in a few shots. Anyone know owt?

    The 2021 Deathlist Cup

I've done nowt about May but I'm still leading in another will-to-live job of a contest (my specialty in this contest) I'll trawl the talent pool and chase an ambulance or two just in case. That said, Bouteflika is nowhere to be seen in my current line up. His demise would also be mine!

    Missing In Action

There's a load of people whose whereabouts remain unknown, but may be worth a punt and points if selected on a deadpool. A few obvious - Lucan, Bin Laden etc - get mentioned. But if we pool our collective brains we might hit on a few more. Like Bambi Woods age, whereabouts, real name uncertain. I'd say alive and willing the world to leave her alone, but you never know. C'mon guys, who else is missing in action?

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

I think that old thread I started about great books about death has - like - died! So, read any good books lately? Like Thomas Lynch's stuff, or Sherwin Nuland's 'How We Die.'

    Comedians & Comedy Writers

The Comedians was massive once over but it's strange that IMBD - normally a mecca for anorak who know their facts - doesn't post a birthdate for half the performers. Has anyone around the UK noticed the likes of Charlie Daze playing a local club? How many of this lot are still alive? Some of them will be well into their seventies now, late nights, loadsa fags and drink, stressful job. We could have us some future winners here.

    Deathlist On The Net

Only just seen this Harry The Star is the one newspaper (assuming it qualifies) that regularly trawls UFO sites and the like for day-to-day content so a few of us keeping tabs on paranormal reports have had a love/hate thing with it for years. For as long as the world and his dog think such reports are the preserve of the DS the subject remains in the same vacuum of integrity as 10 Downing Street (well, maybe not that bad, but close)
