    London 2012 Olympics

I missed that episode, which DVD is it on? Incidentally I concur; if only because that logo sucks (arf arf), oi stop throwing stuff!

African Leaders - Despots and Democratic

Charles Taylor starts the performance of his crowd pleasing life by keeping them waiting. The man's love of an audience means he'll almost certainly show up to rant, denounce and display his impressive line in clothing. Faced with a guilty verdict he may yet deliver for those of us sitting on deadpool picks which pay off with minor bonuses for death under 60 and/or by suicide.

    Animal Antics

Meanwhile, down in the AI lab we've been combining the DNA of a sheep and former Carlisle captain Kevin Gray, shipped the results to Italy cos we didn't fancy being in the proximity. The video!

    Deathlist 2011

Doing worryingly well for my liking, he's in one of my DP teams.

    Bernard Manning

He is a good sport and he knows he's been defying the odds for a while. Alex Higgins second, not sure about that, he's not sixty yet.

    The Dead - 2007

I'll leave you to say that to her face. After all, I'm sure you can outrun her! Fair play to her for having the balls to pose like that, in today's image-conscious 'thou shalt not eat more than a lettuce leaf for tea if you want to be famous' society - I weighed the same as her at the beginning of the year, and there's no way I'd get my rolls of lard out like that for anyone. I love food. My ideal man would be one of those weirdos that feeds ladies up so that they can't get out of bed. Re the death thing, there was a time when the NME was cutting edge and full of the music of the day, it's bordering on nostalgia central now, and losing sales. It may go the way of Melody Maker, Sounds, Disc and Music Echo.

Cricket Thread. Only Mad Dogs And Englishmen

Been over that cricket site and they seem well stattoed up, so I'm guessing they'd know if he were dead. I think he's deffo 2008 DDP material if nowt else, good spot!

    Ideas and possibilities for 2008

Fakhruddin Ahmed, c'mon guys, he's world famous being interim leader of Bangladesh and that. Anyway, he's hit the deck making a speech. Might be the searing heatwave in his home country, might be summat more sinister. On a totally spurious note, there's an area of Maryport - famed for the level of benefit claimed by the residents - that was for many years known to locals as 'Bangladesh.'

    Football

Match abandoned in the 89th minute with Denmark and Sweden locked at 3-3 and a penalty about to be taken. Denmark having clawed their way back from 3-0 down. Wouldn't want to call the ruling on this, Danish fan tried to chin the ref but Danish players made a serious effort to stop it. Where's this going to end then?

Nick Du Toit / Simon Mann / Mark Thatcher

If we ever had need of oil from Equatorial Guinea, do you think they'd want Mark Thatcher as a 'sweetner' on the deal? Now that would be funny.

    Fat And Fearless

Cheer up MPFC, it's not over until the fat... ...hmmm, sounds like it may be over MFPC. Except that those who lose vast tonnages have a tendency to regain the lost weight. The real challenge is for our man Manuel to find a role in life that doesn't involve him: i - Being very fat ii - Doing something in response to being very fat.

    Fat And Fearless

Manuel Uribe made a radio appearance today. Cheerful, inspiring others to lose weight and causing some consternation at MPFC Towers where we have him nominated in a deadpool. Big fella, older than Chris Leppard, all this media whoring is gonna see him off, right?

    Damn, won't anyone die?

On the Sod's Law/unexpected front Ronnie Biggs would be the kind to go just when we've all stopped posting on his thread. Contrary and confounding he may be, the man's not immortal.

    Football

I'll bet you any money that Liverpool will be lumbered with a newly promoted team away, while Man U and Chelsea get easy home starters. I feel it in my blood... TBH I'm not sure if the elevated climes of the Premiershit get their tour dates on the same day as those of us who are still - sometimes - allowed to stand as we watch. On a different matter, if Dr Hack is around has he any inside track information on the alleged move of Tony Caig from Vancounver Whitecaps and their 12,000+ crowds to - ahem - Gretna?

Things To Do While Waiting For Death... 2007

Read summat about this in the paper today, we've only got Sewell's word for it mind, he suggests the camera had no film and that Dali got his rocks off this way.

Comedy & Death - Great Combination

The late great Curtis Mayfield sang 'If There's a Hull Below (We're All Gonna Go)' maybe a reference to the fact those of us joshing now, will one day find ourselves alone, in poor weather and desperately in need of a better picture on the TV.

Chris Amon still takes an interest, albeit from a distance, doesn't he? D'ya know if he's well OoO? Read the shallow and shite biography of him not too long back. Way less entertaining than the few clips I've found online.

Comedy & Death - Great Combination

I was sharing my DL passion with some people at work, a sharing that involved bringing up some of the spectacular and fatal footage of motor racing accidents I've been posting a little too much of lately. One accident - linked on the F1 thread if you want to check it out - shows JD McDuffie's car flip over and crash down on another vehicle that's veered off the track, the collision killed McDuffie. Thomas - a gay colleague who delights in describing his bedroom action knowing full well it revs up some of the more easily riled amongst our crowd - quipped; 'That's how I'd like to die, pumping adrenaline and going down on another man!'

Formula 1 & Other Motor Racing

Ever heard of Google, MPFC? It really is most useful for answering queries. Also, any particular reason you want to keep dragging up & then showing fatalities here when I thought this thread was for future possibilities? I knew some of these guys personally (Gonzalo Rodriguez, Michele Alboreto, Sebastien Enjolras to name three) and don't particulary appreciate either seeing their deaths again or the morbid fascination of how they met their maker. Anyway, the answer to your question is a resounding NO. The reason Earnhardt died was due to minimal head & neck support, and was one of the chief reasons that the rather ungainly, but bloody useful HANS device is now worn by most drivers in most top-line series. Aye, fair point OoO. I'll ease off for a bit. It's just, you hit one on You Tube and it offers you seven more after that. Laziness really, so it's no excuse. I'll go looking for a link to that riveting run round Monaco last Sunday. Man, even the podium trio looked bored! Do you still get a buzz watching Grands Prix OoO? I don't, which is one reason I'm on You Tube, not just seeking out the crashes, also marvelling at Mansell's slingshot double overtake in Hungary, Jim Clark, Fangio, even Chris Amon, they're all on there.

African Leaders - Despots and Democratic

Quite. One of the prime pre-requisites for an African Despot is a gift for theatricality. I look forward to him collapsing in the dock in due course. As for him getting what he deserves, however, I cannot share your optimism. My guess is that Mwanawasa will eventually cut him a deal rather than be perceived as a puppet of Western imperialism. Fair point, but if he's kept alive, in jail and generally miserable that could be a serious punishment to a theatrical despot. Kinda, what he deserves, obviously without the daily sessions of being tortured in public.

    Tony Curtis

Indeed, our track record with thesps is fairly mixed, Micky Roony and Tony Curtis thrived under our death sentence last year and then there's Clive Dunn.... Oddly, his chunky old mate Roger Moore might be a carker before TC.

Formula 1 & Other Motor Racing

Dale Earnhardt named on an AOL feature as one of the 50 best racing drivers ever. Fatal accident footage here. Is it right, his seat belt failed, meaning that serious but not too serious accident, was fatal?
