    Fidel Castro

The 'this article' link above goes to the Wikipedia which says nowt about her ill health? Mebbe edited out by someone high up in Cuban politics eh? Also, who is the Guardian obits editor when s/he's posting? Just askin' like.

Avast, Me Hearties! It Be Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Dirty Tom Vane Hmm, I reckon they got that one about right.

    The Kings Of Tonga

These ranters give me a dilemma, I kind of envy their carefree ways but I'm wishing death on their leaders so we can score points, and enjoy their thoughtful banter as a pleasant change from the narrow minded vitriol of those dull enough to think Peter, Paul and Mary great artists.

    The Canadian Paul Deadpool

Handy, out little Manx minx; I get yer point but it was - like - 1973 or summat, tasteless combinations were in. I'll bet the blessed Karen Carpenter was spotted similarly attired.

Avast, Me Hearties! It Be Talk Like A Pirate Day!

I'd think I'd got yer point Star Crossed, I was expressing satisfaction that you've decided to stay in spite of yer problems. Sorry but, as a long-timer meself I just take a perverse delight in gannin' the wrong route round spelling Moderators.

    Pope Benedict XVI

It's rumoured that the third prophecy of Fatima - ie the one the Vatican won't share with the world and the one yet to come true - is of 'two rival popes.' It'd take summat like the current crisis, sustained for a few years, to bring about the kind of schism that'd make such a thing possible. Not that I believe a word of this rumour, just bringin' it to yer attention, like.

Avast, Me Hearties! It Be Talk Like A Pirate Day!

    Margaret Thatcher

Indeed, not since the days of early Windsor has someone started out with wit, self parody and a sense of knowing showmanship in a post. Damn good posting name too.

Whom Are You Tarring With The Epithet "twunt"?

TLC, I doubt very much I'll achieve that double. I have got my ticket and will soon be departing for the Valley, more for the day out and the crack than in any serious hope of a giant killing act. Go well

Whom Are You Tarring With The Epithet "twunt"?

TWUNT MASTERY! Well, I can honestly say, the room didn't shake, things look the same. But I'm retiring for the day, emotionally exhausted, or summat.

    Margaret Thatcher

You couldn't make this sh*t up. Bear in mind this happened after 'The Iron Lady' smashed Scargill and the hardest bastards in trade unionism, retook the Falklands in a matter of weeks and bullied some of Europe's most difficult politicians into giving the UK rebate.

What, yer a mass murderer? C'mon man, help us with the woeful success rate this year!

    Football

Aye, QOS and 'classy' never did exist in the same universe. The joke used to be that on a quiet night in Carlisle you could hear the knees of Queens players creaking over the water. Once suffered through a reserve game of their cos a mate of mine from school got a run out. He wasn't even the best player in our class, but they thought he had summat.

Amazon ain't listing the new Carry on Doctor yet, noticed you could get the old VHS on a twofer with Carry On Screaming, a snip second hand at 31 pence.

I think that should read; 'There's an interview with Jane's daughters in this month's Cosmopolitan magazine.'

Used to rate Corry but Emmerdale has improved and passed it of late.

Hack, re the hunch, I keep assumin' you're summat in medicine and working amongst the notoriously unhealthy living scots. Is this the case?

    Banksy

Banksy's argument is that the elephant - blended against the background - represents the major problems of the world we ignore whilst we do less important things. Interestingly, in the film done for BBC News about his US exhibition there were shots of the people setting up the exhibition whilst the voice over said 'is this Banksy?' a few times. One of the people shown was Robert Banks.

Get them four posts in TLC, we're already celebrating on your behalf on the twunting thread.

    The Canadian Paul Deadpool

BHB, if it's any consolation we like you the way you've always been so it might be an idea to - like - deal with the immediate trauma of accidental exposure to Chesty Morgan and then go back to being yourself. Like her, I guess you're in desperate need of support!
