If we were to do anything, it would have to be a (free) email. But that's it, I think. I don't even think there is enough demand for that. Where do you draw the line? The current death list? The UK? We have thought about an email for just the names on the list, for forum members. Anyone interested in that?

Looks like we got on to the front page of MetaFilter, with this posting for Cartier-Bresson: http://www.metafilter.net/mefi/34773 Apparently, we missed Thatcher's death. Amusing, perhaps. Until you follow the link - http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/34761 - and discover that it goes to http://www.guardiannews.co.uk/, which for a while was showing a spoof Guardian website page, proclaiming the death of Thatcher. The Guardian stuff is gone, no doubt due to legal problems, but the more astute DL reader will remember site because it was posted here, when her death was announced! Of course, there are still those links to the "Maggie's Dead" T-shirts. "highschool bozo bullshit?" I think we'll leave that one to the MetaNerds to decide.

Yep, can't see anyone really wanting that service. The only people that would probably want it are those in the media and I guess they would be able to get a flash easily enough from their own feeds - Reuters etc. For those that are desparate to play with their phones, there is always the free Deathlist WAP service

Ahhh good old 16.1a. I was waiting for that one to come up.

What are you doing Dave?

I bet he is a big fan of Michael Jackson's music too - I'd be hankering a guess that "The Girl Is Mine" would be on his Sri Lankan desert island discs.
-
I can just faintly make out "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", coming from inside the room...

Let's hope the magistrates don't miss the point...

Very good I was reaching for the drum encylopedia myself there, until I read that post.

If only he could of been more specific!

That's the one.

What was his motto?

I'm Alan Fluff Freeman, and that was, Pick Of The Coco Pops, live from the breakfast table, here at Brinsworth House. Tarra!

The Daily Mail seemed to think it was quite a big event. I can confirm that even British seaside town pubs hold copies these days.

It does indeed mean the first listing on the deathlist.

It's nice to see so many old flames getting in touch and asking after Red.

Should Typhoid Harry have the poison frog avatar ?
Stayin Alive replied to Stayin Alive's topic in DeathList Forum
American guy, killed his wife, high profile trial, sounds nasty: "Laci Peterson, a 27-year-old wife who was eight months pregnant, disappeared Christmas Eve, prompting a nationwide search. But when the body of the Modesto, Calif., woman and her unborn child were found four months later, her husband, Scott, was charged with two counts of murder." www.courttv.com/trials/peterson/ Personally, I almost managed to claim I was somebody too, working in the toxicologist bit in with the Kristin Rossum trial, but it was the wrong way around - plus there is the added complication that she says she is innocent. -
Now all we need is a (DL) celebrity death cartoonist. Anyone?

Does "-ex" and "toxicologist" alarm anyone? -
A big DeathList welcome, Poetry Man. I'm sure Ronnie Biggs will be more upbeat about things, after seeing this kind of devotion. Are you planning to write a poem for each new death?

DWB - At the point of confrontation with the filth, you would simply flash your laminated 2004 Deathlist membership card - inset with passport picture of you smiling and special moderators hologram - any outstanding confusion should then be explained - you were on 'official' DL business.

Four Donkeys of the Apocolypse
Stayin Alive replied to Death Watch Beatle's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I see what you mean now. More appeared, probably whilst I was typing that last message. And I thought I could type fast. -
Ahhh, how moving. A fetching piece of electronic prose. I'm also disputing the "... and very two dimentional" thought, I think this picture proves she was every bit 3D: http://www.staroops.com/F/FayWray/ Oh, maybe you are saying she had dementia? Sorry, what were we talking about?

Four Donkeys of the Apocolypse
Stayin Alive replied to Death Watch Beatle's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I have to say, I was about to waive the DL spam scythe - sending one old donkey to an early grave with options on a few cans of Whiskas - but then I saw they were real postings, from a real live donkey, save a Moscow Mule.
