The interesting docu-series on BBC pretty much clears it up, though the doppelgänger is a convincing and colourful one. The series is more about Neil Berriman’s pathological obsession with finding old Lucky, who seems as dead as ever by its end. They might continue Lucan, but they probably ain’t findin’.

I must have missed that memo.Whatever you think about the veracity or otherwise of BBC articles about this or any other news stories, the corporation has its agendas like any media outlet. That pompous self-congratulatory ident/trailer with Clive Myrie about how trustworthy the glorious BBC journos are makes me arch at least one eyebrow.
All we’ll/everyone’ll ever really know about Letby’s guilt or innocence is that we’ll never really know. Sorry if that sounds like a bargain-bin Confucianism.

Let’s have a little Jack Jones, a superior lounger to Andy Williams imo, and infinitely preferable to his bellowing namesake Tom.
I bet Hal had fun writing those lyrics. The essence of Mad Men.

Geoff Capes should probably go in here too, as he was definitely a summer Olympian if never a medallist. For those too young, he was also the third most famous Brit of the 1970s, after Brian ‘squat thrusts and parallel bars dips’ Jacks and Dickie O’Sullivan, obviously.

Indeed I could, but the Unwritten Rules specifically state that 'one mayst not start a thread for a celebrity with a nebulous cancer diagnosis, lest a vengeful admin doth come down and strike it closed with a mighty "tut-tut" '
Anyway, good on Hoy for his stance on this horrible outcome. Hope he'll continue to be vocal throughout.

It makes the video for her lovely cover of Nick Cave’s ‘Girl in Amber’ ominously poignant.

I find it sad that ridiculous thread titles like this one and the Andy Ripley boofheads are gradually being homogenised for convenience. The world gets ever more literal day by day. How long until Piper at the Gates of Heaven becomes Musicians of the Psychedelic Era?

Find it amazing that Bird is still going given he looked old and frail when umpiring 30 plus years ago. Boycott has now had two bouts of cancer and a quadruple heart bypass. Many lesser mortals wouldn't still be here.
"Alan flamin' Bennett?! A bloody poofter who lives in Primrose 'ill?! Is 'e 'eck as like. If e's a professional Yorkie I'll go t'bottom of t'stairs" (blah blah etc).
Old Godot was a bit of a pro-Yorkie wasn't he? Lived/lives in Surrey if I remember rightly.

Dickie Bird and Geoffrey, the last of the professional Yorkshiremen, both looking relatively gradely at Headingley today.

Depending on who you believe, he either turned down being an Eagle at their conception or was kept out at the insistence of other(s), but with Meisner, Frey and Souther all dead that’ll remain a mystery I suspect. JD was a boyfriend of Judee Sill and you get the feeling he wasn’t the most considerate of guys, but that’s pretty much par for the course with the Laurel Canyon rock stars and songwriters, so I’m not going to have a go at him on hearsay.May I add, I’m not an Eagles fan one little bit, though they could do the West Coast harms as well as CSNY or anyone else.

Perhaps most notable for putting on an Edinburgh Fringe show in 2013 called Jimmy Savile: The Punch and Judy Show, one of the worst-reviewed shows in Fringe history (sample review line: "It’s an insult to every comic who’s poured their heart and soul into their Edinburgh show that this atrocity shares space in the same programme.")
Surely someone must have videoed this piece of art for posterity, but I can’t find hide nor hair. That might be the longest obituary in history… yet leaves us none the wiser on the manner of Mr Ellis’s demise. I’m sure him and Rose can’t have been as bad as Hale & Pace, though the clip I saw wasn’t that promising. -

One of my other shows is called Haunted Stage and is about death, one of my favourite subjects of contemplation. I refuse to believe that I will die but am very interested in the way others keep doing so.

I’m pleased to see that David is still knocking about, I’d like to imagine he still peruses the board now and again for a bit of Carry On Gossiping. Although it had to be done, I do miss the ‘guests’ that were obviously real people and dropped by with info or rants, but quite understandably couldn’t be arsed to join as a full member (Matron!). -

A brief listen tells me I wouldn’t give that album to my worst enemy. Only 5 of 21 still with us: Faith Brown, John Cleese, Nina Baden Semper, Lenny Henry and Brian Murphy. Despite the LP’s title, Dick Emery’s You Are Awful isn’t even on there; maybe his estate wanted to spare people further suffering. -

Lyricist for Up Where We Belong and My Heart Will Go On.
Also, Tears In Heaven, Higher Love, One Day I'll Fly Away etc etc.
I’m so devastated that my son fell out of the window that I feel compelled to write a song about it. Um, hey Will, can you write some lyrics for it, mate? -

I've been watching a lot of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" lately. That's how I know the name. Haven't really checked if Boggs is actually a heavy drinker.
Portrayed brilliantly by Kenneth Williams in Carry on at Your Convenience. -
