Listening through now, also getting namechecked and still alive:

    Pele

    Sepp Maier

    Hayley Mills

Daniel Boone (not sure if this is the long-dead frontiersman or the still-living one-hit wonder)

    Kelvin MacKenzie

    The aforementioned Nicholas Witchell

Francis Lee (the ginger footballer not the gay film director)

    Julie Andrews

    Bradley Dredge

Not too much in the way of obscure names, with the exception of journeyman golfer Dredge.

Nerys Hughes has also been name checked by them, and has been on Pointless Celebrities, so a double whammy of curses there.

Sally Kellerman, the original Hotlips in M*A*S*H and loads of other things dead: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/sally-kellerman-dead-hot-lips-houlihan-mash-1235099282/

Previously picked for the DDP apparently not this year (a Crumble sub?).

Used this thread as Rover gave a lot of work to it, despite there being a Star Trek Thread.

That's a shame. I preferred her over Swit.  I think this is the first time the film actor has died before their tv counterpart.

Sylvie Gatrill, actress who appeared as Mrs Cullen in Bread, being reported dead:

Also played the recurring role of Lesley Donnelly in Brookside.

I don't remember her in Brookie. She turned up in The Responder recently as Victor McGuire 's feuding neighbour which I thought was a nice casting gag. Of the two of them,McGuire looked closer to meeting his maker to be honest.

I remember it when it happened, it was all over the news for weeks.

Did they not locate its resting place a year or two ago?

Yes they did, well about a decade ago. I hadn't heard of it until then. It makes quite interesting reading.

Edit - It was 1997 it was found, bloody hell.

  5. I was only about 8 months old for the silver, but I have seen the slides of the street party. It looked fun. I was living in Germany for the Golden so I missed that. I don't remember the diamond but I don't remember in being widely celebrated here on Mona's Isle.

One thing I remember for the Golden was a friend of mine telling me that her nieces, who were around 5 and 6 had misunderstood what it was all about and were in their front garden waving little union flags and shouting 'The Queen Mother is dead, The Queen Mother is dead'. One of them had an obsession with drawing pictures of the Queen Mum in her coffin too and I often find myself wondering what their forum names in here are.

I'll change it. Must be some kind of old data that made it in - from before the (THEME) era.

I think we have the time for minor changes now. Spelling mistakes and other things. So just mention them.

    Thanks, much appreciated.

Piper Laurie played my absolute favourite  character  in Twin Peaks the complex angry and jealous bitch Catherine Martell- and played her brilliantly!

    Good choice for a thread.

Twin Peaks and Return to Oz are where I know her from. She was gloriously blotchy in the former.

I have never seen Carrie though I know the story. Is it worth watching?

Maybe she’s a long time stalker who saw you put the books in the charity shop, made up a story about finding the photo in the book, just as an excuse to meet you in person. The photo is one she took of you.

Then you ruined her elaborate plan by telling her you weren’t bothered about the photo. :P

Ha, nothing that interesting I am afraid, just me being a bit ditzy and using anything I can find as a bookmark, in this case a photo of me. I nearly lost my passport doing something similar once.

I don't have photos of me lying around due to vanity. I write to lots of pen pals and usually have a few photos to hand in case they ask for one.

Strangely though the book is a psychological thriller with a character who is a stalker.
