1 hour ago, DevonDeathTrip said:I was wondering if there is a list anywhere of living people who have had a death sentence commuted in the UK?
I was reading about Liam Holden, still only 68, who was sentenced to death in 1973 (Northern Ireland abolished the death penalty shortly afterwards).
Jersey and the Isle of Man were still giving out death sentences in the 1980s and there must be a few survivors of the 'pause' on executions in the 1960s from the UK mainland, but a definitive list isn't readily available so far as I can see, let alone who might still be alive.
Tony Teare was the last person on Isle of Man to be given the death sentence and that was in 1992. He would only be in his 50s now so possibly still alive.
Other people given death sentence on IOM since it was abolished in UK are
James Lunney in 1973 aged 21
Graham Frankland in 1980 aged 27/28
Michael Pate in 1981 aged 21
Stephen Moore in 1982 aged 18
I think that's it. All of them could potentially still be living.

I have been watching old Brookside episodes and wondering about a couple of people.
Cliff Howells (George Jackson). He seems to have had a steady if not exactly stellar career until about 20 years ago, then nothing.
Ann Haydn-Edwards (Teresa Nolan) also seems to have stopped working over 20 years ago, but never did that much anyway.
I know they are not big names but they were in some big storylines and I am curious. I have given up on finding out of Shelagh O 'Hara is still around.I
Not in Brookside, but does anyone know if actress Dawn Beret is still around.

We only have the mum's word that this is what happened. I could also have been suicide.

Well, what? Isn''t it worth a "Don't try this at home, kids" warning?
Some kind of choking game I believe. I know of someone who lost their son in a similar manner, though he was a couple of years older than Archie.

I was considering a soap, not one of those mentioned, but thought it would have been chosen. I was also considering another programme which I am amazed wasn't chosen but I won't say what it is as I may use a theme for next year's DDP.

Quick question. Does a cast member have to be credited as the same character in their episodes or is it ok if they have had several appearances but as different chatacters?
Edit. Submitted my pick.

Maybe Titanic or Avatar? He seems to have been in everything. He was the voice of Jon Irenicus, main villain of RPG Baldur's Gate II.
Edit: Also an actor in Time Bandits, but then who wasnt...
He was in an Inside No. 9 episode as well.

That's a shame. I only know of him from his Work in Hill Street Blurs, but he was very good in that.

Arguably could be placed in a television thread also.
Hilary Devey, entrepreneur and panellist on Dragons Den has died aged 65.
She looked rough when she was in Pointless Celebrities, but I'll be honest I didn't even consider her for my Pointless Theme Team.

I believe they are supposed to wear ID.

Having written these two contrasting instructions I've decided to leave, ludicrous though it is to state 'imagine' and then suggest not thinking about it.
A friend 's husband witnessed the accident. It sounds every bit as horrific as you are trying not to imagine and I wish she hadn't told me. I feel so sorry for Cesar Chanal's family.

I have only seen one house near me decorated with British flags. They also have Gary Barlow cardboard cut-out in their window!
All the focus here has been on the first TT since 2019 rather than the Jubilee.
