    Greatest Deaths Ever

What is the most shocking death of any famous person during your lifetime? I know we are probably dealing with members from teenagers to "old" people, like me. Two come to mind for me - JFK in '63, though I was only 7 years old, and Lady Di, with a nod to JFK, Jr.
  2. Gotta keep Moe Howard on the list for 1975. He was the Bowl-Haircut leader of the 3 Stooges! Moe made millions of people laugh and actually had talent, something that many of those in comedy don't have today.

    Bo Diddley

I will hate to see Bo pass away, but we all gotta go sometime. Bo, Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters were the best!

Most Significant Death Of 2007 (poll)

Oh man! I voted for Anna Nicole before I noticed Bhutto on the list. I thought it was 2008 already. Forgive me.

Paul, Wonder how much the fare is from England to Australia? Well, maybe when the law was written the offenders were strapped onto the back of a camel or something, headed south.

    World War I Veteran(s)

So we have went a month without any other WWI vets passing away?
  8. 365 days / 50 names = 1 death every 7.3 days to complete the list. In 126 days we have 1 recorded. We are averaging .345 for the year, which is not too good. We should be around 17.26 to complete the entire list for the year. Lots of catching up to do! Even if we hit only 25% of the list, which is roughly 12 people, we still have 11 to go in 239 days, which means the average should be at 1 every 21.73 days. In a slump?

I really don't think we will know when he kicks the bucket until well after it is history.

    World War I Veteran(s)

I refer the honourable Weasel to my somewhat controversial CPDP theme team, most of them deemed with it and strong, all of them over 100 and four of them now deceased. There's a crude law of probabilities applying here, the older you are the more likely you are to die, well, once you've passed the age of 10, statistically about as safe an age as there is. Henry's a loveable old soldier and a credit to this nation, but he's pushing 111. I can't even imagine being that old. Geez, I already forget where I left my car keys now at 51.

Henry seems to be "with it" and strong. God bless him!

    Methuselah

Dang it, forgot to sign in again.....anyway, Methuselah means "man of the dart" ???? whatever that means. Maybe he was killed playing an invigorating game of "Lawn Darts"!

    Methuselah

Longest living recorded person in the Bible. If you read the Biblical account of his age and when the flood occured, he either died in the flood or just before it! Interesting.

    Star Wars Deaths

I find Mr.Ford to be a very good actor. hmmm, those last two ip adresses would appear to match up with those of a couple of long-standing DL members. Gents, care to hold your hands up, or are you going to retain aliases within a website in which everyone already has an adopted persona? It's kinda like double-bagging. More like, being inside a casket that is inside a casket

    The Great Escape

This is one of my favorite films of all time, especially the Steve McQueen parts, motorcycle, tunneling, cooler, etc. Just found out that Charles Bronson died in '03, somehow I missed that.

    Are You Being Served?

"Are You Being Served?" is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. The innuendos, expressions, slang, and predicaments made it hilarious. The best show was when Inman was on the monitor and acting out the horse race. I laughed till I cried. "And they're off!" ...and, dang it, I thought Wendy Richard was a fox!

Thanks Football Fan. I check in every once in a while and view the thread and check out the list. I am so busy I don't have time to listen to the news...I did hear today that the lead singer for the band "Boston" passed away.

    World War I Veteran(s)

Unbelievable!!! Like I said a couple of months ago, when I started this topic I never thought.... Oh well, on November 11, 1918 when the armistice was signed, which was 88 plus years ago a "young" veteran would have been around 17 years old (maybe there is documentation of younger). This would put them at 105 now and dang it......that is old!
