Tremendous, thank you very much indeed TMIB, and well done! May I offer one correction. One of my selections is Henry Sandon (of Antiques Roadshow fame), but he is listed as Henry Sandison (a name unknown to me).

I can't speak for the Deathlist, but people such as Ethel Lang are absolutely famous because of their longevity. The fact that they are "likely to die soon" is more of an occupational hazard. With regard to deadpool validity, I don't think they are in the same category as those who are only notable because of terminal illness or coma situations. I feel that picking such people is against the spirit of the game, especially as they are usually relatively young (whereas the "famous for being very old" score low on the DDP). I am now resigned to a mediocre placing on the DDP, because I don't include them. By the way, I think Lady Attenborough is a valid pick, Windsor: she was a reasonably well-known actress in her day.

Is Roland his brother? Probably not very cool if he was roasted.

Looking good. Thanks, Hein.

Her condition has deteriorated-she's now said to be 'fighting for her life' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2911356/Crime-writer-Ruth-Rendell-fighting-life-stroke.html If I had picked Ruth Rendall and Barbara Vine would I get double points? Unfortunately I picked neither this year I am really sad about this, as she is one of my favourite authors, even though her recent novels have lacked her characteristic edge. Still good reads, but too tame for me. Going by interviews she has given, she seems to have pursued a very healthy lifestyle, plenty of exercise, eating sensibly etc. So that didn't work.

He's obviously got no particular place to go and perform a gig. It's funny you should say that because on e of Chuck Berrys soings was titled No Particular place to Go ! Nothing gets past you, does it.

Sorry to hear of your loss.No matter how old someone is losing them is never easy! Yes, when people have been around that long you almost expect them to be there for ever. Condolences.

In the meantime, I've been into my settings and ticked the "ignore signatures" box. Nice and tidy now.

I hope I'm able to keep working after my death Working, no thanks. Remaining active - possibly.

Good for you! More seriously, the link that GossipGabe posted references this article. While I fail to see why insulting royals should be punishable by law separate from the one banning insulting all other people, the measures handed out are effectively similar. I have no reason to insult a slag, so why should I call her a queen? regards, Hein Wouldn't describing the Queen as "slag" be quite complimentary in Dutch?

"Passed"? If you mean died, say so. This is no place for insipid euphemisms.

Didn't Joan Sims croak it back in 2001? Well caught, I meant Sheila Sim. Better go and correct that. Cheers.

Why don't people just list their team names, that's all I do. They can be turned into a link once the DDP lists are up. For other comps on here such as HPDP you can link to the post where your team appears. For instance here is My HPDP team People can just click if interested, and it saves a lot of space.

TMI. I tried to connect with the proles last night by watching some "Death in Paradise" on iPlayer. Guess what, the fucking thing fucking glitches. Anyone else had glitches galore on iPlayer? These constant jarring glitches are one of the main reasons I don't bother watching anything on there. It just SKIPPED AHEAD 3 or 5 minutes with absolutely no reason or warning while I was just getting comfortable watching the beginning......... Also once a long time ago I was watching something on it, and I paused it to go and get something to drink and the stupid fucker UNPAUSED ITSELF while I was out the room. How fucktarded can you get? You think that's bad, try ITV player. Unwatchable.

Also allowing the whole police operation to be televised live - that must be so useful for the holed-up terrorists to know what's going on outside. I mean, freedom of the press and all that, but it's not very sensible is it.

The Telegraph reporting it with that Times death notice apparently their only source. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11335642/Lance-Percival-dies-aged-81.html I did actually consider him for my DDP team this year, but couldn't find any recent info on him.
-
No, because you have made it up.
-
I didn't realise he was as old as that.
-
If that's so, surely he's been wrongly convicted?
-
Simon Cowell?

I don't really understand what's meant by "ambassador". Formerly Clive Dunn was a sort of mascot, for want of a better phrase - he was a fixture on the Death List and an exception. Ronnie Biggs did not succeed him in any real sense, but his interaction with the forum gave him a different kind of status. Are you looking for someone seemingly immortal, in the style of Dunn, or someone who is willing to accept their selection with humour, รก la Biggs? Or someone to be a favourite for different qualities?

The only reason I picked him was because on MNF Suzy Kolber started crying a few weeks like she was mourning already, otherwise he would not have been on my radar since the type of cancer he had was not disclosed. I could see why he looked like a risky pick to people not familiar with him in the UK. The reason I didn't pick him was not that he was a "risky pick". I didn't pick him because I'd never heard of him until today.

Erm... yeah. I know........ Well then. I had a notion that a friend's father may have known him, but I never got round to asking him. That's all.
