I always get that confused with those boat things that you can hire at the beach.

Not really, but the theme tune is burned into my brain as an early memory because my grandmother used to listen religiously to Mrs Dale's Diary.

When will Harry and meghan divorce if at all?

I can't see their child being given a royal title. Princess Anne's children did OK without any. -
What is "chronic mono"? Is one of his speakers not working?

You'll need to explain that. -

What was that for? Let me be clear, I don't envy these women their position at all. I just have no respect for anyone who takes something on in full knowledge of what it entails, and then throws hissy fits about it. The people I do respect are those who are wise enough to realise that they wouldn't be comfortable or happy in the job, and so graciously decline. Like Chelsey Davy did. -

I find it extraordinary that anybody would take on Harry in full knowledge that certain things will be expected of her, and almost immediately start whimpering about the shit that comes with it. She knew that she would be at the mercy of the media (social and gutter press). She knew all the background of Harry's mother and how she exploited the media and then whined when it bit her in the arse. WHAT THE FUCK DID SHE EXPECT? -
The Royal Forums is a place to find the latest doings of obscure royal personages. She gets a mention here http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/f78/grand-ducal-house-of-saxe-weimar-eisenach-wettin-17013-3.html

Good riddance, I hope the pair of them fuck off abroad never to be seen again. -
My Heritage is one of those family history sites where people post their family trees, usually full of mistakes. Like Ancestry's family tree section. I would not consider it a reliable source.
-
I did not know that. I had rather assumed that in Olivia's case it was a stage name, but was never interested enough to check.
-
I'm not expecting to have any this time. Occasionally I put somebody in purely because I think nobody else will have thought of them.

Who Do You Consider "famous For Being Ill"?
Toast replied to msc's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
No, you're full of shit. Don't presume to tell us Brits whether a British personality is a household name in British households, because you are not in a position to judge. Whether they are known to Americans is irrelevant.- 64 replies

What exactly do you mean by athlete? -
Oh. Well, I think we're all agreed that the BBC is crap now, so probably just incompetence.
-
I think you did miss something, because I read it on there late last night. (Actually that might have been the win for Succession itself, but I looked at the updated article again this morning, and I know he won so it must have been there?)

She's a "sexual assault survivor"? Aren't we all, dear.

What a conman. Dreadful stuff, Beaujolais Nouveau. I had to taste it once just to confirm my expectation that it would be awful, but never fell for the hype.

No, I was talking about the band name, Throbbing Gristle. I don't actually care if candidates "deserve" fame. I just go by whether other people have heard of them (or in the case of band musicians, their band). Everyone has different interests and areas of expertise, so my personal yardstick is "would there be anyone in my local on a Friday evening who has heard of [insert celeb]?" In this particular case, there certainly would be someone who has heard of Throbbing Gristle. Probably several people, as it is a memorable name to say the least.
-
Sure, but in this case it's the distinctive name rather than the music that might ring a bell with people.
-
Yeah, but they need to be able to find the thread to do that, don't they? So that's where Cat's list comes in handy.
-
I think it's handy to have a complete list of thread titles for reference. Then if you are thinking of starting a topic, you can scan down the list to see if there already is something similar. A search won't necessarily pick it up, as thread titles can be a bit abstruse.
-
Possibly not, but I bet more than 1% are aware that there used to be a band called Throbbing Gristle, even if they never heard any of their music. He passes my "recognised by someone in the pub" test on that basis. Band names are often known while the names of all their members may not be.

I've always wondered whether he'd been playing up the seriousness of his condition to guilt Ozzy into giving him those platinum credits.
