  1. I quite like him, he sounds so old-fashioned. Wouldn't want to listen to a whole album though.

    Olivia Newton-John

I suppose I should make the effort to watch 'Xanadu' sometime, since it starred and seems to have destroyed the career of Michael Beck, who played Swan in my favourite film 'The Warriors'.

    Queen Elizabeth II

Maybe splitting hairs here, but Aquitaine was a Duchy not a kingdom. So technically Eleanor was never a queen regnant.
  10. Yeah, I know .... Mind you, my neighbour says when he's had skips he's found that more people pinch stuff out of it than they put in. I've bunged as much as I can in for today, so hopefully I'll get it all in if I don't hang about.

    Dame Judi Dench

What is this doing in the Deathlist forum anyway? It's not about Judi Dench. Fine, let's have the debate, but in extra-curricular and with a more suitable title.
  12. I don't know what that is but it sounds funny.

    Dame Judi Dench

It's a whole other topic, but I am uneasy about this sort of thing, as he hasn't afaik actually been found guilty of anything yet. There was a similar situation with an actor in the BBC's Agatha Christie adaptation that was shown around Christmas. He was replaced although I think there was only one person who had made allegations against him.
  14. Well! the stupidity of people never ceases to amaze. Where the skip was to be dropped is just after a blind corner, and the skip lorry had to position itself right across the whole road for a few minutes. I went to warn drivers approaching the corner, but a coach driver had helpfully stopped his coach there to hold the traffic back. There was a decent gap between the coach and the skip lorry, which was just as well for the tosser driving a LGV who overtook the coach (yes, on the blind corner) and was then confronted with the reason why the coach had stopped. Then a twat in a car came sailing past on the wrong side of the road and just managed to avoid the front of the skip lorry. Luckily nobody was proceeding (legally) the other way. Anyway I have smashed a load of glass into the bottom of the skip and feel better for it
  15. Clearing out sheds with generations of clutter. I'm getting used to being plastered with cobwebs, dust and ratshit. But I'm getting a SKIP !!! Excited because have never had a skip befor It's here! The skip is here! Woo hoo!

    Film Producers

One of my favourite films is Waking Ned which, although set in Ireland, was filmed on the Isle of Man. It's a very funny film which never fails to lift my spirits. It also contains an excellent funeral scene, which I won't spoil here. ETA Our own Manx Minx might have some input here. @Handrejka

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

There's a shoehorned-in line that explains that Eve was born in the UK and then her family moved to Connecticut when she was very young, and she later came back. In other words, Sandra Oh can't do the accent.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Well, the character is Russian, but her nationality isn't revealed until about halfway through. She is seen operating in different countries and she appears to have a command of several languages, so it may be intentionally ambiguous. At least it's better than Sandra Oh's English accent - oh wait .....
