    The Death Penalty

They declared me unfit to live, said into that great void my soul'd be hurled. They wanted to know why I did what I did. Well, sir, I guess there's just a meanness in this world. - Bruce Springsteen, "Nebraska"

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Bugger, was Inside No 9 on there again? Haven't seen all of those. Trouble with all the old series you mention is I've seen 'em. Back when there were only 3 or 4 channels and no internet you tended to watch all the good stuff. Agree about House Of Cards. "You might think that, but I couldn't possibly comment". Brilliant and unforgettable.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Cheers, but I didn't like Breaking Bad (gave up halfway through S2) so I doubt that will appeal. I don't generally get on with contemporary American stuff, half the time I can't catch what they're saying. I've got NOW TV at the moment, otherwise just Freeview stuff.

Ah, but weren't we talking about this just the other day? The patient rallies shortly before dying.

    Interesting Ways To Die...

I don't see a problem with this, as long as it wasn't posted before. Historical deaths can qualify as "interesting".

A hospice in the UK is a specialised sort of hospital dedicated to nursing terminally ill and dying patients. Only palliative care. Sometimes they admit long-term terminal patients who are not yet on the brink of death, in order to give temporary respite to family carers. That's common with hospices for children. I think we don't say "the hospital" because it sounds like there is only one! We either use it as a general term ('she's in hospital') or we are more specific and use the name of the hospital* ('she's in St Thomas's'). *Sometimes this can be impenetrable to non-locals. 'He's in the General' (passim) 'She's in the JR' (Oxford) 'He's in the Battle' (formerly Reading)

Was anybody saying otherwise? The clarification is welcome, as in the UK we do not tend to use the phrase "hospice care" when the patient is at home. Most of us would understand it to mean that the patient is IN a hospice.
