Ah, you could have hit the nail on the head there, Cat. There isn't one in here but there is in the kitchen. I shall investigate. ETA - nope. I think it must be the one on the upstairs landing. -
DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis

There is something in this room that keeps cheeping like the battery's running down. I cannot locate the source. At first I thought it was a NOW TV remote control which I no longer use. I took it into another room to check and it continued shrieking, so I removed the dying batteries and put it away elsewhere. But there is something else. I've taken out of the room two more remote controls (TV and DVD), my handbag, tablet, a wireless speaker, and all other suspects to no avail. WTF can it be? (and no, there's nothing of that nature in my living room) -

I really ought to take the dog out, but I do enjoy a good internet bust-up.

Sorry to hear that, Paul.

That's really interesting, as this has just happened in a novel I am reading. Read the passage literally last night (dying demented patient revives to give lucid account of crucial secret) and I thought "How ridiculously unlikely" .............

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Toast replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
@Joey Russ Here's a brilliant out-take from that album. Played as a request at Hyde Park 2012. This was hilarious and still makes me laugh. I'm somewhere out in that crowd. -
Been To Any Good Gigs Lately?
Toast replied to Brinsworth House Baiter's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul last night at Shepherd's Bush Empire. Totally unplanned as I was offered the ticket by an internet acquaintance whose missus couldn't go. Top gig, and the stranger whose car I happily jumped into did not turn out to be an axe murderer, so win-win. -

Things To Do While Waiting For Death
Toast replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Should this be a new thread, or hived off into one of the music threads? Only it doesn't really fit here. -
It's times like this that I remember that this is a grim break-up song and despite the languid summery feel, it has fuck all to do with a long hot summer, which only gets mentioned in the very last line.

Yeah, but when Sir Creep thinks they're too obscure ..... With all due respect, the fame level of many of the subjects of your posts is low to non-existent.

Well, like I said, that would be Janine. Which is fine. It's the silly spelling that gets to me. I see the name, and I see Jane and then it stops making sense.

Some actress who calls herself Janeane Garofalo. Now I imagine that's supposed to be Janine, but am I the only one who wants to say Jane Ann?
