I for one am very proud of our lads. Reaching the semi-finals is more than most of us dared hope for. They conducted themselves impeccably. They won a penalty shoot-out. They gave us the rare luxury of watching a match without having to worry about the result. They have won back the respect and affection of the nation, which had been squandered by the previous bunch of useless wasters.

Driving round my village earlier on I only saw one England flag. Even the pubs haven't bothered this time. Maybe people feel it never did us any good in the past so it might be a jinx?

Wouldn't it be simpler just to add the 'dead' tag?

Anyone who lives in an older house needs to accept that people have died there. Lot of people will have been born there too. It's only in relatively modern times that these events routinely happen in hospitals, and laying out of the dead would have been common at home too. My house is old and will have seen many births and deaths, although no murders or suicides that I know of. I witnessed the latest death, although I didn't realise it until a bit later.
