Yesterday the 3rd Baron Monk Bretton (wiki), who is 97, broke the record to become the person who has held a peerage for the longest time ever (88 years and 158 days). He used to sit in Parliament… from 1948(!) to 1999.

Tweet reporting the death of American embryologist Beatrice Mintz (wiki), aged 100. Picked by @Yvonne in the 20 / 20 pool.

Yeah, it's okay. Miles better than last year, but that was never going to be difficult. Still loads of room for improvement e.g. still a few silly drops and shot in the dark type picks.

I have uploaded a newspaper clipping about her from 1963 here. She lived in Manhattan, NY and Wainscott, NY. Married prosperous Danish businessman Poul W. Fricke in 1956 (their marriage certificate reveals her real name was indeed Katherine Anderson). It mentions that as a teenager, she lived in Alhambra, California. In the 1960s, she ran an arts programme called the Blue Curtain. All the media coverage refers to her as "Katherine Anderson Fricke". The last mention I can find of her alive is from 1971. That should be enough to get you started.

Seems her age was exaggerated. Someone keeps trying to edit her DOB on Wiki, and they're not wrong. Kuinova's real name was Panir Ibragimov according to her family on FB. She lived in Rego Park, NY. The matching residency records on Ancestry tell us the truth. She was born 28 Dec 1926, not 28 Dec 1920! Now WTF is it with ladies from the East lying to make themselves older, and ladies from the West lying to make themselves younger? The mind boggles!

This was a lucky dodge for all tbh. Took him 9 days to get a QO from The Telegraph.

Sadly not. In fact, a lot of them simply faded into complete obscurity and were never heard from again (mainly the Cuban negro leaguers). Many on Wiki are missing death dates. Same can be said of many of the AAGPBL players, though not to the same extent as "A League of Their Own" brought a renewed interest to their fame and many re-emerged. Though the AAGPBL still has an appeal for info/contact details for hundreds of its players that they never tracked down!

Buzz. Even though he's healthier than Shatner in terms of diet and exercise, ageing has noticeably impacted him more. Shatner has long been a fat fuck. Not sure how he looks so great tbh!

Come on Goose... she only gets mentioned on this Forum about 6-8 times a year!

Lawl. The MSM have a fucking cheek calling us “sick” and “vile”. Their journos definitely have the Forum open in a spare tab on their browser as we often spot a lot of deaths from social media before them! Then they’re the ones who copy our research, take credit for it and get paid for it. Brass necks!

I CBA. I know you’re Albanian so let me assure you that Anderson is a very common surname in English.
-
Lol. Did you even read that? That Katherine N. Anderson was born in 1911!
-
We know. Already reported in the comedians thread (the correct thread).
-
It was a rhetorical question. You were discussing someone who is still alive in this thread, which is solely for those who have just died.

I tend to agree with this analysis. Cause of death was given as pneumonia, which would wipe out even some of the healthiest of centenarians. Swift and painless end though. "The old man's friend" as it used to be known as in the UK.

He didn’t die on his birthday. Read the TMZ article. The family stated he was born in 1933 but that the Jan 1st date of birth used on the net everywhere is incorrect.

@arghton Elaine V. Merk (correct spelling) b. 19 Dec 1930, married George A. Binder in 1959. Has attended reunions, often as "Elaine Merk Binder". Living in Alhambra, CA as recently as 2018. Could've died since then, though the Oz community is generally as sharp as anything. Valerie Lee Shepard b. 14 Dec 1931 as Lois Valerie Shepard. Now goes by the name of Lois V. Haynes. Still signing autographs in 2018 and notes on StarTiger suggest she was alive in late 2020, residing in Reseda, CA. Viola Faye White b. 12 Jan 1930, later became Viola Faye Banks, but she died on 8 Jan 2000 (aged 69) in Nebraska. So (assuming none of them have died off radar in the last few years), there are 7 living cast members, 6 of whom were child actresses.

And now Mel Brooks is in that boat... raspy voice and housebound. I think he'll go towards the end of this year, but no way will he go as far as Betty White.

Mary Ellen St. Aubin dead at 101. Widow of Wizard of Oz munchkin actor Parnell St. Aubin (1922–1987). Became a regular at Oz events. Also had minor acting credits in Hollywood during the 1940s. 101 is an incredible age for a dwarf. -
Another thicko newb.
