    Michael Winner

From his Sunday Times column: PS I have been in hospital since January 2 in Barbados, from which I took a Swiss Air-Ambulance to the London Clinic. I have had two operations (both serious!) but such is my dedication, I shall continue to amuse unless I kick the bucket!

    Tony Curtis

From this week's Hello! Actor in fight for his life Veteran Hollywood star Tony Curtis was last week fighting for his life after developing pneumonia. The 81-year-old actor reportedly spent five days "drifting in and out of consciousness" on a ventilation machine in intensive care. His family-including wife Jill and actress daughter Jamie Lee Curtis-were at his bedside. Last week, his publicist confirmed that the star had been ill and asked fans to "say a prayer for him". He spent much of December in hospital and was transferred in the New Year to a rehabilitation centre near his home in Nevada, where he had to be admitted to intensive care. Six-times married Tony is best known for his roles in classic comedy Some Like it Hot opposite Marilyn Monroe and Roman epic Spartacus in a glittering career that has spanned seven decades.

    Paul O'Grady

Although it would seem Paul has a genetic propensity for heart trouble, in a recent interview he gave he thought that the heart attack was a delayed reaction to all the stress and chain smoking he went through caring for his partner who had a brain haemorrhage.

    Norman Wisdom

This from yesterday's Sun: Film veteran Sir Norman Wisdom is to return to the movie screen-aged 92. The comedy legend will play a vicar in the film Ex'presso, which is based around one day in a cafe. Sir Norman, who appears for just one minute, is bothered by a pesky fly as he tries to write a sermon. Eventually he swats the fly with a book. The movie will tour film festivals in Easter.

    Ken Russell

Excerpt from The Sun as to why he left the BB House: "Ken, who had hospital superbug MRSA in 2004 and has already had a stroke, added: "I thought, if this is going to go on for 25 days I can't take it'. I was worried I'd have another stroke." However, his wife is fairly young so I'm sure she'll keep him going for a while yet!

    Dino De Laurentiis

Seems his only claim to fame was his partnership with Carlo Ponti! Although Ponti was most famous for being Mr Sophia Loren!

    Tony Hart

Article in today's Daily Express: Tony Hart, the much-loved TV presenter and artist, has sadly lost the use of his hands and can no longer draw or paint after suffering two strokes. Tony,81, has been swamped with inquiries about his health since it was announced in a BBC show screened over Christmas that he was "too ill" to appear but is said to be in "good spirits". The former presenter of children's programmes such as Take Hart, Vision On and Hartbeat featured in BBC2's It Started With Swap Shop (he used to have a hugely popular slot on the Saturday morning show) but could not appear in person. "I've been flooded with e-mails about it" says Tony's close friend and representative Roc Renals. "The top and bottom of it is that he's not up tp appearing in TV programmes. Since he had a couple of strokes, he's not really able to tackle the stress of it." And, most cruelly fot the man who designed the Blue Peter logo and who encouraged thousands of children to paint and draw by showing their efforts in his celebrated gallery on Take Hart, he is now unable to use his hands. Roc adds: "As you can imagine this is a devastating blow for an artist. "But he is making the most of everything and is still very cheerful. He took on a carer after his wife died so he is being looked after." Tony, who won a BAFTA for Take Hart in 1984 and whose shows introduced the Plasticine model Morph, lost his wife Jean in 2003 and suffered his first stroke a year later. Roc adds: "He's fine in himself. He's still got a positive outlook. "He's still able to do personal appearances-as long as he's not asked to do great long speeches." Best wishes, Tony.

Yes he might well be beheaded or gassed or electrocuted or riddled with bullets by the close of the calendar year presently known as 2006; I bet Mystic Meg is quaking in her boots Bruno ole boy! It's bad enough it being Black Saturday, what with Deathlist losing a dead cert. If you're going to slag people off Rita - at least try to use the quoting system properly! I wasn't slagging him off ole bean. Was actually quite impressed at the accuracy of his prediction!

Barzan would, probably. The judge, whatshisface would be mentioned as part of the trial - I think, DDP anyway, it's not an obit per se, but a mention that they have died:- which surely the BBC would do. TF, if only bloody Papon, del Toro, Gerald Ford and Gloria bloody Stuart would die, I would have no conundrum. Surely you didnt have a conundrum when Richard Whitely died?

    Saddam Hussein

28th March 2007 at 0800 hrs. Although as he's on my DDP team I rather hope he dies this year, but I don't think he will. Only three months out ole chap!

You happy you had him now Windsor?

    Saddam Hussein

Sounds like a publicity stunt, I can't see Saddam doing a Bobby Sands. Too much of an egoist for that. Possibly, but he knows he's going to die anyway, maybe he would prefer death by starvation on his own terms rather than public hanging on American terms. It's about the only way he can kill himself anyway, I'm sure his guards keep him distanced from sharp objects and toxins. Personally, I don't care how he dies. Just as long as it happens before 1st January 2007.

    Saddam Hussein

I've got a strange feeling it won't come to that. I envisage a Goering situation, in that he'll be "allowed" to top himself first. As long as he's dead before the end of the year, I'm happy. I want those DDP points. Are you happy today?
