I agree. He may have his good days when he feels well enough to make a public appearance, but in the end pancreatic cancer has such a low survival rate and will likely lead to his demise. According to alot of links Lamotta was a great selection for this years list. Perhaps we shall make it 2 boxers for this years list? While Muhammad Ali has been takin over by parkinsons disease. I would think he has some years ahead of him. He's one to keep in the back of your mind but hopefully for boxing fans out there he won't have to be considered for the list anytime soon. What are the reasons for him being a great selection?

In one of the previous posts on here there was a link to an article saying he was having chemo for 6 months from August. Put him on the list I say!

Well I had him on my list this year as he suffered a stroke back in February but as he's now working again I'm taking him off!

I think he just pretends to get away with the nonsense he writes!

I did, actually. Obviously had to put a replacement in. There is one person on the DDP who is on there for precisely the same reasons as Monkhouse would've been, but has responded better to treatment. They're on my DDP list this year. Has that person died this year?

He suffered a mild stroke 5yrs ago. Also have to agree with the commentators on Suez, he looked haggard!!!!

I've just stayed up all night reading this thread for research. My synopsis is that most of the posts were Iain being totally obsessed with GF dying or people arguing so not really worth my time! Btw what is the next number of posts I should be aiming for to get a new title?

Can anybody confirm he also suffered a stroke recently? I can't find any reports of it but I'm sure he did as I added him to my list in June which was obviously before he was diagnosed with cancer.

You know even with the odds stacked against him with his numerous conditions, Evel could turn out to be a tough ole boot. Just look at good ole Liz Taylor for example for surviving against the odds or Ronnie Biggs(or maybe not! trying to survive prison more like!)

Reading this thread I get the feeling she'll live a good few more years yet, although I wouldn't like to risk taking her off my list! I voted for Dino de Laurentiis purely because I've never heard of him and I'd prefer someone to pass off quietly rather someone uber famous such as Liz Taylor or Maggie Thatcher coz it'd be in the news forever!
