I believe that it is an accepted phrase in normal speech, but quite how one expresses it in a grammatically correct manner I do not know. When I wrote the post I was going to put 'between you and I and the gatepost......... but I thought that it might be lost in translation; what does a gatepost have to do with this any way? The quote tag with the forward slash ( ) should be at the end the one without the slash should be at the beginning. It shouldn't make any difference if you just click on the 'quote' button at the top right of the post. I've noticed if you get a single tag wrong, it rejects every single other tag.
