Marilyn Monroe – Suicide Or Cover-Up?

I know I may have contributed to this conspiracy theory by comparing Monroe and Diana, but your assertion here is something even I think defies credibility.

    Walter Cronkite

How did a discussion of Walter Cronkite mutate into a review of Carly Simon's latest musical offerings. I wonder what she would think if she were to read this. Actually I'm pretty sure I know. She's so vain, I bet she'd think this thread is about her.

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

Well if I suggested the likes of Wayne Rooney or Haley Joel Osment for the list, I doubt these would be considered "serious" contenders.

    Gerald Ford

Decorated and distinguished pilot in WW2 and a fairly successful CIA career before he was president. He's done a lot others couldn't do. I think you're struggling to prove Bush's idiocy. Rather like others - Thatcher, Blair - there's no disputing his basic intelligence. Now when it comes to arguing if he was misguided or just plain wrong a few times................ Are you referring to Bush Sr or Jr? Because in the case of the latter there is evidence that he may be a few slices short of a loaf.

Marilyn Monroe – Suicide Or Cover-Up?

Interesting, but it is beginning to border on the tenuous...... Maybe, but consider that they were both glamorous blondes who had slept with members of their countries' most powerful families (admittedly, Diana did so reluctantly), and both threatened to bring those families down. Both died in mysterious circumstances at almost exactly the same age (36 yrs, 65 days for Monroe, 36 yrs, 61 days for Diana). And of course both had the same song dedicated to them by Elton John. All too mysterious for my liking.

    Dennis Waterman

Hes' only 57. Far too young for consideration, IMHO.

Marilyn Monroe – Suicide Or Cover-Up?

I have recently discovered that Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana were almost exactly the same age, to the day, when they died. Coincidence or not????

    Say What You Please

I say that this thread has been forever fouled by that disgusting image posted by Tempus Fugit.......... by which of course I mean the picture of Tony Blair's face.

Serious Contenders for Next Years List

These may fulfil your criteria: Billy Graham. Kurt Waldheim. Fidel Castro (although I don't think he will die for a good few years yet) Clive Dunn. I would also suggest J.D. Salinger, author of "Catcher in the Rye", who turns 87 in January. Clearly getting on in years and lives a rather reclusive lifestyle which means that, were he to become ill, he may not be willing/able to contact the outside world. Just a suggestion.

    Margaret Thatcher

I also want Thatcher to die.............I mean, be on next year's list.

    Gerald Ford

I must beg to differ with you for Jimmy Carter still seems to be in very good health give his age and family medical history. Even at the age of 81, he still leads a very active life, travels, speaks, still builds for Habitat for Humanity, not exactly a sign of failing health. Besides Gerald Ford, the only ex president to be watching is Bill Clinton. The man had two heart operations in 6 months. And he hasn't looked very well since. I feel that there is more to his health than he lets on. So there could be the possibility that Gerald Ford could survive both Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton! What about George Bush Senior? He is 81 this year, older than Carter by a few months and far older than Clinton. Surely he should be considered at least.

    Albert Hofmann

I think West Cumbria has suffered too long from the cynical neglect of successive British governments. Their casual indifference - leaving us with the questionable benefits of a massive nuclear power station and sporadic tourist coaches filled with massed hordes possessed of little more intelligence than cattle - has consistently deprived the honest and decent people of this region of their due rewards. What do you think? That while Middle Eastern economist Tarik M. Yousef provides a traditionalist view on economic underdevelopment in the Middle East and North African regions, his ideals speak to the "quick-fix" aspect of our personalities, the one that wishes to see a solution within the next two decades. I think that Timur Kuran has contributed more to modern global deliberation on the topic with his theory of institutional economics as the root cause of modern poverty and tumult. What do you think? I think, therefore I am.

    Most Hated...

Ian is the most evil first name in Britain. Blair is the most evil surname.

    Most Hated...

I hate Vice Chancellor Watson. In fact, I really despise him and wish he would choke to death on his own vomit. Sorry, but that's just the way I feel.

Man Utd 68 Vs England 66

It was actually a team of even less consequence, Preston North End.

    Most Hated...

seriously, how can you guys put footballers and annoying celebrities in the "most hated" category along with mass murderers like Bush, Bin Laden, Mugabe and Pinochet?

    George Best

When George Best dies, it will complete an absolutely miserable week for Manchester United. For this reason, if no other, his death should be widely celebrated. I fear that pub landlords will on the other hand be rather depressed.

    Most Hated...

Bush, Bin Laden, Saddam, Milosevic, Pinochet, Thatcher...........there are many contenders.

    A Shortlist 2006

I voted for Maradona. Tragically, it appears that he has now got over his health problems and is back to his best. Although it does mean he lived to see England defeat Argentina recently, which I'm sure annoyed him greatly, so actually I'm quite happy.

Why doesn't she just hurry up and die already? She's had a fair innings.

    DL Members' Secrets

I am sure that it will be OK, here is one. I still listen to the Bee Gees. That, sir, is unforgivable. Please kill yourself at once, it's the only way to relieve yourself of such shame.

    The Remakable Banshees Scream

What is it with Banshee's Scream? Why is he forcing other members to leave the site? Why is he making arrogant comments such as he can "predict deaths"? Why is he gloating over online "victories"? Why can he not spell correctly? All of these are questions which rank amongst the greatest mysteries of our times.

    General Pinochet

George W. Bush will never suffer for what he has done; this saddens me. But I hope Pinochet dies in agony.

    Margaret Thatcher

Is Maggie going to die at any time soon? I'm getting rather perturbed at her continuing existence. Although maybe it would be better for DL purposes if she survived at least until the beginning of next year (assuming she is put on the 2006 list).
