I went with Brokaw. But have any deathlisters run the list through ChatGPT to assist with their picks for the next death?

Not so much about the picks, but the first two hits of 2022 have brilliant tag lines!

The funeral of Friederike Mayröcker was public and I attended it. I was unfamiliar with her work, but am working on a project regarding Vienna's Central Cemetery and considered it research . Most surprising was the choice of music: instead of hymns, the songs that were played included Procul Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale" and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" She is buried with her partner, Ernst Jandl. They lived in the same apartment complex but with two separate apartments... I think we can learn a lot from this!

I'd like to be remembered as the person who saved the discipline "classics" from cancel culture by developing an interdisciplinary "introduction to Humanities" course based on the letters of Pliny the Younger.

Austria's numbers are also going up... presumably because in order to get certain services (like getting your hair cut) you have to have a 48 hour Covid test. More people are getting tested, so more cases are being caught. But a further consequence is that the people who test negative are allegedly going out to party like it's 1999 and getting infected that way... at least they look good doing it!

how can it not be Prince Philip? He's been in hospital for weeks now and nary a word about how he's doing after his heart procedure!

That's what the link in the former post was meant to point out.

Historian Timothy Snyder thinks that Trump will be forced to live outside of the US to avoid the consequences of his sketchy dealings. (Ca. 34 min)
