    Winter Olympic Deaths

It doesn't help that Britain are as rubbish at the Winter Olympics as they are. But it's not surprising, there are no proper mountains and look what happened to the country when it got a dusting of snow this year. Two weeks of complete chaos. The only things Britain have had any success in are frozen shuffleboard and ice dancing, which have to be in the top five for Cyril Softiest sports imaginable. I'm currently in Europe at the moment and was recently observing some friends ice skating; a big German prick of a bloke was showing off and hassling the other skaters and I realized that he probably couldn't swim. I took great pleasure in imaging him entering the water off Bondi, running afoul of the rip current and being sent straight out into the Tasman. I prefer my water as liquid, in my experience Australians and ice rarely mix - P.S. my friends consist of an Englishwoman, a Pole and an Irishman.

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2010

Lol...Rush was rushed to the hospital. Maybe he thought he better get sick before the health care reform kicks in... Also with only a few hours to go until the beginning of the next decade, I wonder how many poor sods will miss out by dying on the last day of the 2009?

    Fidel Castro

He may not have been seen in public for some time...but he is still being heard - provided you believe Chavez's letter.

    Humanity Itself

I wouldn't say 1-0, I'd say the cynics have clawed one back, but they're still 11,273 behind coming up to half time. Thats very wrong but very true, sir. No denying the giant iceberg headed straight for us (article) - I for one always try to look on the bright side of such problems...If the iceberg and other like it continually contribute to rising sea-levels, I won't have to drive as far to the beach in order to go surfing.

    OoO's Baby Spectacular Extravaganza

It's Intriguing to see that on a forum where the major theme is based on death and all things associated with meeting ones maker, there is enough room to create a thread based on birth and the miracle of life... Having never met you personally (and probably never will) - I wish you all the very best. My bet is March 10th, at a healthy 8lb-even, and you'll name the child after the last celebrity to snuff it before the birth...

    Interesting Ways To Die...

I don't know how reliable the Russian news paper The Sun is but it had this to say about the "other white meat" (story via the Harald Sun) Also a bit off topic here - but you Brits might get a kick out of this. But don't worry I still love you

    Riddle Thread

The friendly against Chile has been cancelled, so you'll get your money back from the bookies? Close, but no cigar. If I'd had a bet on the game I might have gained some money. You'd promised someone you'd try to get tickets to the game and now you don't have to? No, I could have got free tickets if I'd needed them. You were going to put a hit out on him next week?

    Hooroo, Mate.

Clen Denning (98) died on the 9th - he was last surviving member of the Fitzroy football club's 1944 premiership team. Somewhere on this site is mentioned the passing of another of the team members earlier this year, but I can't find it.

    Drunk? Bored?? Psychopath???

Yes you are absolutely right, it is a big call...thank you for bringing it to my attention Honez. I actually meant the lead singer of the group Mandawuy Yunupingu (53) - up until this morning I, when I checked the net, I couldn't remember his name. Apparently due to his chronic alcoholism he has severe kidney trouble - he has been ill for a while now, although he could be on the mend. This is he... P.S. Honez, great response to the Galah in the G'bye mate thread, I wasn't even going to bother - questioning weather they're are actually Australian (I doubt an Australian would think like that) or one of the other members looking to create conflict.

    John Tyndall & Nick Griffin

WOW! I caught the show on YouTube. What a display...It seemed to me that the two women on the panel were the only voices of reason out of everyone. I love meeting people from all walks of life, from all over the world, I find them to be the most interesting people to talk and be mates with. I get why people would want to live in countries like ours and I understand that proper procedures need to be taken that are ultimately beneficial to all. The "gates" shouldn't be completely open or completely closed either. An old Scottish Uncle of mine once punched out a bloke for telling him that he wasn't Australian and to go back to Scotland. In Oz we are required to vote - but I would never vote for someone as dangerous as Nick Griffin. nor would I vote for this boof-head. He is Malcolm Turnbull, the federal opposition leader who thinks Australia should become a republic after the Queen dies - It isn't so much the removal of ties to the Monarch that bothers me, its the starting afresh with a new constitution and parliamentary system that is of concern. Its the proverbial "let the criminals to dictate the prison system" scenario that is worrying, similar to Griffin I expect. Oh yeah...support for Griffin and the BNP can't be that high can it? surely he can't be taken seriously as an alternative after hijacking Churchill's memory. Now for a poem...
