  1. Only way he's missing the 2015 list is if he dies before then. "Misses" of folk who had been on the previous list tend to be the old age ones.

Oh I see now...It's their fault for living throughout the year they're picked...

  2. A quick search tells us you're actually the first person to mention de Salis here. I vaguely remember his face after Googling it but somehow that one never really entered the national er... consciousness or whatever.

Not really surprised you got out. Sounds utterly bonkers - I'm guessing it was actually a much more stable place under Gaddaffi Duck and now he's gone the loonies are taking over the asylum like in Iraq?

Right, because Gaddafi is who I imagine when I think of calm, stable, rational government.

  3. Personally, I can't wait until the Greek pops it, because only then will we see stories emerging about the Profumo affair and his possible involvement in it.

Stories about this have been surfacing on a regular basis across the USA over the decades, and if ever a country can create a conspiracy theory, it has to be Uncle Sam.

Having said that he will never die from hard work, as since 1947 when he hit the jackpot by marrying the fragrant princess, he hasn't done a days work.

Wasn't there a sniff of involvement with a singer called Louise Cordet and the actress Pat Kirkwood, although I suppose not at the same time.

    Jealous much...

I personally subscribe to the reptoid hypothesis; that they are all members of the reptilian elite. :glare:

It was shocking to see him in that condition. What a horrible disease. I'm a big supporter of allowing people to die when they're in that state

Me too. I think people should have the right to end their life if they want. Its a joke we call this a free country , when a natural plant like cannabis is banned and people can't end their life. Its pretty simple everyone in the UK has a right to life and a pursuit of happiness , so why shouldn't someone have the right to death and their pursuit of happiness maybe the end of pain and degradation of an illness.

Certain diseases Like MND or locked in syndrome etc when medically proven the patient has these should then be offered a chance to end their life when they are ready providing they freely want to.

If he was a dog or cat, he'd have been taken to the vet and been put out of his misery in next to no time.

    Perhaps another viable option...

My Grandfather used to put a bullet through the head of animals that became lame. he did this at the back of his property with minimal fanfare.

  5. After the sentencing, we should prepare ourselves for the inevitable "I'm too sick to be in prison" routine? it seems to be what's done with high-profile court proceedings these days (Pistorius is practically already there at this point)

I'm betting on an at her majesty's pleasure scenario, in 2 or 3 years he'll be released on compassionate grounds and slink into obscurity, popping up in deathlist forums with the occasional health update.

  6. ...and the fact checker for the site is absent again (perhaps they are dead) IMDB and other sources have Wallach dying on the 24th of June, not the 25th. and the obit writers must also be dead...

  7. 3rd hit of the year finally in. Hopefully this'll open the floodgates and get the score a bit more respectable.

    especially if it floods...

might go a Scooby Doo marathon for the weekend

  8. So this is what happens when Deathlist averages 1 death for every three months and the DDP server goes down...we turn on each other like animals.

Btw I was mildly drunk when I challenged that poster to a fight (as you might have guessed). And you take all sorts of silly shit personally when drunk. Just sayin'..........................

Maybe that's a problem with electronic communication. You can actually see a record of what was said at midnight and 4am.

I, for the most part, don't really care - occasionally doing something ridiculous on the forum making people think "fucking retard this guy". but that's okay, I'm usually under the influence of something at the time and have a bit of a laugh about it the next day anyway. I wouldn't take it to heart too much. like EGN says there isn't really a need for a "Bad Ass" as such here.

I would suggest the problem came with your abruptness and quickness to turn to crude forms of retaliation, instead of outlining a more coherent defence (much like you are doing now ironically enough) in dealing with the whole issue. talk it out with the individual and allow other members to respectfully express their points of view.

  9. http://www.nbcnews.c...eatment-n126331 _Judge suspends end of life care for further intervention begged for by his wife who suddenly cares now she has no power or attention!Anyway as he is clearly on his way out I propose a sweepskate : I will go for Wednesday 11th June at 8PM local time.

I am conflicted.I don't want Casey Kasem to die.On the other hand,if his death is inevitable anyway maybe it's better he goes quickly so we can have a 3rd hit because it's getting bloody ridiculous now

and if it isn't?...wait, isn't all death inevitable though?

    June 14th

  10. I confess to not reading too much here nowdays, however, I did give this thread a bash.

Im bound to ask the obvious question: "Just what the fuck are some of you on?"

There are certain parallels between James and my life at the moment.

My Dad was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Now, he is undergoing treatment, fingers crossed and God willing ( If there really is one) he will beat it and be the wonderful Dad he was before he became ill.

So what, might you ask, has this all got to do with Clive James?

Well my Dad is 72 years old and, lets be honest here, has a considerably shorter natural life span than the average 30 or even 49 year old ( like wot I am) so, assuming he does recover, the odds of a recurrence, relapse or something else going wrong is considerably higher than the average fit and healthy adult half his age.

Its fair to say that he is being utterly positive, as is his family, that he will still be able to soldier on for years to come.

    Ditto Clive James.

Well he may be a self absorbed cunt, a raconteur that loves the sound of his own voice, infact he may be a multitude of things.

What he certainly is though, is a man fighting tooth and nail to stay alive.

    Ditto my Dad.

Some of you cunts are taking the attitude "Not dead yet?" "Hurry up and die for fuck sakes!!"

The fact that a 74 year old man with a terminal illness is still alive two years after its first diagnosis says more about medical science and sheer will than anything else.

The man is hanging on, don't knock it.

One day it may be you.

    Yours

    Butt hurt

    LFN

You and I have not always seen eye-to-eye on this site in the past, be that as it may. I hope you permit me to say that I feel for you in your current circumstances. I too know the feeling of having a father diagnosed with cancer. I was considerably younger at the time (in my teens) and Dad was in his forties. I understand the feeling of not knowing what to do, a sense of helplessness and distress at not knowing what the future holds. it wasn't until my Dad went into remission that an immense wave of relief washed over me (I hope you experience that same feeling) Dad's in his late sixties now and every six months when he returns for a checkup my family holds it's collective breath for the results, my father is not a healthy man but he is alive. Unfortunately for Clive James, it appears he will not experience this relief. My only hope is that he is made comfortable in his final moments.

LFN I'm sure you've already realised this, but my advise (for what it is worth) is to cherish every moment you have together (its been 21 years since my Dad was diagnosed and I still cherish moments). It can be a strange bond between father and son, but what your above post tells me is that your relationship is strong, in short keep it going it will give your Dad strength.

  11. There are unconfirmed reports on twitter that the leader of Boko Harem who was seen on video this week boasting and laughing about kidnapping t hose schoolgirls may have been killed in a US drone strike tonight. Let's pray this is true and not just an internet hoax

You can pray for the disturbing "death from above" drone strike technique that seems to be the latest craze to hit modern warfare. I'll hope, not pray, that justice is served and the girls are found to be safe and unharmed.
