You just know him Joey Feek,Howard Marks,Kris Travis etc will all die Dec 20th ish to send teams scrambling
-
I can see the need to exclude it though cause with BBC local obits being excludedif the former Mayor of Ipswich,Blackpool etc is excluded it would make sense to exclude Mayor of Aberdeen,Dunblane etc. Outside of ex Mayors, local politicians or maybe some Highland athletes I can't think of anyone who would get an Obit with one of those 2 Scottish papers but not BBC,Guardian,Independent,Sky etc.

Unfortunately the 2 articles I clicked neither indicated whether his cancer was stage 4 or was still regional/local. Definitely a gamble of a pick either way.

Was looking at my 2015 picks and noticed http://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/news/11873647.JAILED__Paedophile_former_mayor_may_die_in_prison/ Paedo Mayor Tim Price died in March

Who Should Be On The 2016 Deathlist?
CaptainChorizo replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
She is currently promoting a book on the us talk show circuit. Seems in very good health, would be extremely shocked if she died in the next year. -
Essentially, yes. Though preferably folk who would get a major news outlet obit rather than some of the lower reach DDP folk. Oh ok. So keep it like the deathlist top 50 and no Lauren Hill,Kate Granger etc types
-
So this is us just essentially sending our top 50 prospects+backup's. And the 50 who get the most points will be the Crowdsourced 50 list?

Kris Travis enters hospice care. Uh, a race against time for you... So I guess the chemo stopped working? But do US hospice standards apply there? Martin Crowe also entered hospice at one point and has lived on for longer than the year has left. Still, I guess your chances to win have increased from about 5% to ... hmm, 20% (50% chance of Travis dying this year, 50% of Crowe not dying this year. Plus some chance that Ed Drummond, or Harry Beitzel die (and have an obit)). Such a change this late in the year is still remarkable, I would say. Who would have thought in May that there would be such a close contest until the end of the year? This will all be moot if I can email to Isis the addresses of everyone left on my team.

dead Martin Crowe

My DDP placement is riding on him. If he goes before Dec 31 it all but gurantees me a top 10 finish and would put me currently in the top 5. If he survives I could still be knocked out of the top 10 before the year ends. -
Sad to hear. One of my earliest tv memories are Card Shark reruns on the Usa Network.

Bob Barker is still pretty active. Imo would be a terrible choice

I guess the Eggars picker can look at this sunny side up as it's better this revelation came out now instead of 2 months from now.

So, How's Your 2016 Shortlist Looking?
CaptainChorizo replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Will probably start making a shortlist in a week or 2 of people I have added in notepad in 2015 and then also check status of people I have picked or was close to picking in the past. -
Most deathpoolers will be hoping Someone Like Her,with late stage cancer will last long enough to see Skyfall for at least 6 or so more weeks so they can be Rolling In The Deep points in 2016.

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
CaptainChorizo replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
Is is possible when the record is broken it will stand a very long time. Life expectancies increase every year and there seems to always be experimental drugs that can keep people with late stage cancer alive longer. Death predicting will only get harder every year. -

His chances are much higher then that,as he was a starter on the Butler team that made the NCAA Finals. -

William Perry is both a former secretary of Defense under Bill Clinton and also in the Usa well known former football player called William "The Refridgerator" Perry. Both seem highly likely to be picked one because he is in 80s the other because of obesity and other health problems Nathan Williams is an American musician in the Indy Rock band Wavves and a Welsh Rugby Player albeit both of them are pretty young and seem unlikely picks Then there is Joe Jackson singer of 80's hits" Stepping Out"" Breaking Us In Two" etc and also Michael Jackson's dad Also Tony Bennett the well known easy listening singer and also Tony Bennett the college basketball Coach at Virginia Richard Williams (Tennis Player Venus and Serena's dad) and also animator who won 2 Oscars for Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

So he's not exactly at death's door yet, huh? Although Sir Christopher Lee had similar plans before his death earlier this year, so you never know... Christopher Lee is a well known icon. For a a huge name like that is worth the insurance risk. Even if he is talented actor the fact that an Indy Film studio has signed off on a tv actor like Kerchaval means he is thought of as very little risk to actually kick the bucket in the next year, as it's likely he would have to do insurance health screenings for a studio to sign off on him.
