    Dead Pop Stars

Always reminded of the teenager who died of alcohol poisoning following a "Hungry Eyes"-based drinking game (he did a shot of ouzo every time the word "hungry" is said).

    Dead Pop Stars

Wonder how many other bands would manage that. Aztec Camera have 21 full-time (ie, not touring) band members with blue links on Wikipedia, but four of those are dead. EDIT: Blood, Sweat and Tears have 44 still-living blue-linked full-time members, including American Idol runner-up Bo Bice and the guy who wrote the lyrics for the English-language version of the Pokemon theme.
  3. http://www.oddschecker.com/awards/oscars/last-person-in-memoriam Bwin has a market on who will be the last person depicted in the 'In Memoriam' montage, Prince 4/1 favourite, my boy Bud Spencer a 33/1 outsider. Surely Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds (together) are a lock? Except they're not listed ("other odds are available on request"). Is there any possible situation in which it won't be Fisher and Debs for the big rousing finale? If it'd just been Carrie on her own, I could have seen an argument for Gene Wilder or Michael Cimino getting the spot, but not when there's a two-fer. The last person in the "In Memoriam" package for the past five years. 2013 (2012 I suppose) wasn't a classic year for showbiz death, huh? 2016: Leonard Nimoy 2015: Mike Nichols 2014: Philip Seymour Hoffman 2013: Marvin Hamlisch 2012: Liz Taylor

Stairway To Heaven/ Highway To Hell

Of note he was also one-third of Hatebeak, the death metal band with a parrot on vocals:

    Death, Italian Style

Character actor Gigio Morra, possibly best known outside of Italy as the guy running the clothing sweatshops in the original Gomorrah movie, dead at 78.

    Rumours

Someone claiming to be a journalist with O Globo claiming on Twitter that Dani Alves has killed himself in prison. Not exactly convinced by this one.

    The Curse of Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande, tiny pop strumpet whose skintone has darkened 500% in the past five years, is clearly the Jonah of pop: people come into contact with her and drop dead seemingly instantly. As deadpoolers, we should adopt a "Thank U, Next" attitude, so here's some names to consider Pete Davidson: Ex-boyfriend, looks like absolute shit even at the best of times, dominated the press over the weekend by apparently threatening to commit suicide on Instagram. You would have thought he'd get enough dying every week on Saturday Night Live etc etc etc Marjorie Grande: Grandmother, 93 years old and a guaranteed Daily Mail QO when she passes. Big Sean: Paedo-y ex, has had legal troubles in the past but apparently doing well enough to buy Slash from Guns N Roses' old house Victoria Justice: It was supposed to be her... the Marty Jannetty of teen TV, has to have some possibilities as a suicide case Dan Schneider: [deleted on legal grounds]

    11. Mel Brooks

Unless Mel decided to become a recluse at some point in the past 10 months, long after COVID was a day-to-day threat, then this is just another internet "free-thinker" believing whatever he's told by someone else.

    Journalists

Rod Liddle (he's the fella that ran off and left his wife for a young one) never been the healthiest of men, mentally or physically, but he looks about one lunch-on-expenses away from a multiple heart attack here.

    Tom Lehrer

I believe this is the only, to date, meeting point of Lehrer and the hip-hop community: When he received a permission request from the producer to flip this sample, Lehrer responded: "As sole copyright owner of ‘The Old Dope Peddler’, I grant you motherfuckers permission to do this. Please give my regards to Mr. Chainz, or may I call him 2?"

Happy 92nd birthday to a DeathList favourite who has surely earned his own thread by now.

Death to all modern-day YouTube video essayists, I don't need some prick reading a seven-year-old Encyclopedia Dramatica article about something that happened 11 years ago for 3 hours.

    Big Brother

In terms of fantasy football, the casting is very much "spend £40m on Haaland, Salah and Son and fill the rest of the team up with Luton Town players".

Went long on him because I didn't think anywhere that had covered his illness was a Yahoo loophole route. We shall see.

    Deathlist Cup 2024

If you'd have asked me what the date was yesterday, I'd have said about February 19th, so this team is going to be thrown together in the quickest of fashions.

    Celebrity Chefs

It was the adverts that pushed me away from him, I thought Knorr would have wanted some confirmation that he wasn't about to die before they put him in an advert where the punchline is he lives inside a tight wooden box.

Apparently 1 in 2,134,521. This guy, a mechanical engineer from the states, managed the feat.
