Van Zandvliet makes 11/20. Who is in the lead now, @Shaun of the Dead, and is it me?
-
They never have - hence in 1970, Kaufman got sworn in on Day 1 fairly early on, but Skinner made sure he got sworn in on Day 2.
-
Two more hits at least imo: your joker has pancreatic/liver cancer, and the old dude doing the "drinking bleach as a miracle cure for cancer" routine... And Overton's bound to go at some point - how old is he now? 400?
-
Nah, in 2015 he was 209th to be sworn in. It never seems to be in any order. He's there, anyhow. Made a joke to Black Rod about "seeing you next week at this rate" or something like that.
-
Oh I assumed some of the DOBs might have been corrected - the 2017 edition isn't out yet. The Lancashire Jim Callaghan and the famous one were in the HoC at the same time, for the same party.
-
With the death of Van-Zandvliet (mentioned above), Pan Breed moves back into the top 25. Only 58 points behind Bert!
-
@YoungWillz - Checked your list off my records to 1927 (time, and so many people!) - but once I noted some age differences*, 1 people missing so far... (not including Ted Graham, who I found right as I about to post reply...) Jim Callaghan (b. 1927) - Labour MP 1974-97 for Heywood and Middleton (previous Middleton and Prestwich). Good showing though - pointed out a few folk who had escaped my attention as having died. *Mine come off HoC paperwork, however they openly note some early DOBs can be inaccurate, and some change between drafts!
-
Wont be beating the Msc Record in the Hares Pool this year, then!
-
And you break the news to me, YW! Poor chap though: glioblastoma and pancreatic cancers (with others)? That's just a shit hand altogether.
-
Brown's got the dour Scottish mid-80s longevity look about him. Blair on the other hand I could see sneaking out the back door in his early 70s from a heart attack. Cameron's essentially retired at...50? May seems to be aging at a considerable rate - 70 will be closer to her age at death than 100, imo.
-
Yep, and there's a bit in one of the 74 elections where he and Bob McKenzie predict that "whoever" is in government in 1980 will be in "for a generation". There's a reason folk still listen to him, whereas they don't run to ask, say, Peregrine Worsthorne's punditry view.
-
Eight months tops says David Butler, and he knows his stuff. That's the longevity of the parliament, not the PM's life.
-
Oh 2 more elections. Who else is excited? Ok, just me, then.
-
Moore had announced he was unable to use his telescope (ie do his life's work) anymore start of 2012, and had looked increasingly frail throughout 2012. Remember he had a monthly TV spot up to the week of his death. November edition of Sky at Night, he was very limited and had the faded near death look - it was certainly mentioned on here at the time. He'd have been on the 2013 list for certain, if he'd lived.
-
Shaun, yer head's going to explode trying to keep track of all these deadpools!
-
^ That'd add 33 points to your total, but that way lies madness...
-
Yeah and you could put any Tory in Kensingt... ah, never mind. (Beaconsfield being less of a joke response...)
-
Some survivor analysis. I picked the top eight, minus Shameless (because fuck that for a game of soldiers - no offence, gcreptile) and a few other contenders. And myself, because ego. Much the same as last year, behind the spoiler tags for length. So...
-
Yep, my low quality entry is in and ready to be trounced.
-
The ranks have closed, far as I know. Ulitzer's poking about online - see if they know anything? They were pretty good chasing up the Kaufman smoke.
-
iirc He has breathing issues now from being tear gassed while facing down riot police during the political events in Greece in 2011. In his mid-late 80s. Meanwhile as of May he's still able to travel to Germany. Chap's hardcore, as they say.
-
True. He wasn't listed because I keep forgetting he wasn't a hit. This happens to a few folk. Ernest Borgnine for one, George Harrison for another.
-
I agree with your general point, Joey, but Moore was bloody massive over here, not "little known". People say "it's a miss" all the time, but there's been three astounding Deathlist misses this century: Princess Margaret, Boris Yeltsin, and Patrick Moore. All massive, all Deathlist regulars, all missed.

Ah, Pan Breed will be in your top 20 again to stay before long. White Van Zan, Rayya E is 18 points before too long, and the Joker is still sitting there.
