Although for clarity, note that known forum hypocrite MSc has a certain deceased councillor on his DDP team!
-
As it's yet to change since I wrote it, the sniff test wasn't intended to get rid of local councillors, oldest people or anyone WEP picks ever. It was the shameless teenage mum picks and random car crash victims on life support we couldn't get people to stop picking. I believe I said pick your local Detroit representative just don't expect a qo... Words I should have listened to! Mind you yahoo etc got brought in because of someone getting grumpy about a borusa lack of obit. And other reasons. And instead the press continue to totally ignore old writers and actors. Beyond fucked up with it tbh.

For Trump yes. For my liking he can nominate Jeremy Corbyn on a pogo stick promising tax rises to all male Republican voters as VP!

Aww man, Ice Train was on that list of mediocre wrestlers wrestling tricked me into thinking were amazing as a kid alongside the likes of Adam Bomb and Henry Godwinn. (Actually if Adam Bomb showed up today I'd still mark out even though he's sixty and rubbish.)

Is it the election yet? -
Boney M are genuinely great fun. That's how I like my manufactured pop. (And tbf Liz Mitchell carried them.) Less said about Milli Vanilli the better though.
-
Is a DDP pick but not for Sir Creep.

I thought I'd replied to this with "he's a hard bastard" but forgot, so even though its a week later: he's a hard bastard, you know.
-
Never mind the FFBI ban, terrible pun headlines for every hit is what I'm most proud of, re the DDP. Although had I been around in 2023, I'd have learned you just needed to go the whole "DDP Host Is A Ghost" route for hundreds of them!
-
I put a DDP team together in late 2011, then saw I needed a team name, panicked, and just wrote Pan Breed (as in "deid") and by now there's no point changing it.
-
How many right wing Pats does America have? I swear they must breed or something.
-
Indeed, The Salmon Mousse used to be a DDP regular run by either Salmonmousse or TheSalmonMousse, to the point that when Salmon Mousse showed up, yours truly originally thought it was the old team back until corrected.
-
Given he was on my final shortlist and no sod picked him I feel similar.
-
Tbf its impressive he's still alive. He was a hefty chap most of his life yet is pushing 76.

If John was known to be ill I'd have let you know. He has a habit of forgetting to eat and sleep at a reasonable hour getting too excited about stats and is a Scottish male OAP now. Tom Devine is a better shout for aging Scottish academics. The great Owen Dudley Edwards (Irish but lived in Scotland for decades now) is 86 this year but seems in good health still. TC Smout is frail. All three will go before John imo.

Glanville was still writing into his eighties but is now retired. His obits are polished archive ones. Incidentally I've done a @Gooseberry Crumble. Glanville was a regular pick of mine but not unique for years so I've dropped him and no one picked him! He's now doomed.

Catching up on this week's Emmy awards, Carol Burnett showed up to present an award. Looks and sounds amazing for someone on the verge of 91, still standing without aide and making jokes.

I approve of this rare occasion where Crem gives us good political news! -
Reminder a while ago you pointed out to me that some of my Oldies/Dr Who team picks are blatantly only go to be hits if I pick them, like Dick Taverne for example. You have a fair few of these yourself! On another note, Lizzy Musi picked by two people, me and some randomer. Kathy Brown is on so few teams that if they weren't contenders I'd be worried.

Draper got 150 points, his final downturn was publicised after a number of people who might have picked him had already submitted. Bardot just missed by 4 points from Tom Lehrer, and your host gave Lehrer 10 points back in November which proved crucial at the end. In fairness, had I know my Lehrer points would be crucial I'd have given him far more.

It appears my dropping Tommy McGoran from the Oldies team late in December has made him unique for Jocks Away. Nice.
