He's bound to get a mention on the news purely because of the circumstances. but as for being "famous" I wouldn't say he qualifies on that aspect. He's got a 2-month stay of execution. I'll pencil him in for the DDP for 2007. I wonder what time of day executions are carried out in Pakistan? The time difference is +5GMT, so if Hussain gets hanged at nine o'clock at night local time, it will already be 2007 in the UK. (I think ) Would this qualify him for DDP points?

I'm sure everybody here will be thrilled at the news that Jane Tomlinson has been voted "Woman Of The Year". Whilst I don't necessarily NOT believe you, Ross Davidson married Barbara Black last year (2005) - so Ross has not been married 10 yrs. If he has died, then I wouldn't expect instant news. However, it might be worth checking message boards & local news around Frinton, where RD lives, over the next few days. Yes the Frinton message board is seething with local gossip. I think Star Crossed would approve of the minimalist, non post whoring ethos which seems to prevail there.

Ayatollah Ali Meshkini, the leader of the Assembly of Experts in Iran, is reported in this article to be about to step down due to "rapidly deteriorating health" Meshkini is reportedly afflicted with an advanced form of cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy for several months. He is described as "frail and emaciated" Dubious fame credentials, I know, but he should get a UK obit.

Not sure I'm with you here RA. Obiang is the President of Equatorial Guinea and Conte is the President of Guinea-Bissau, more commonly referred to as just Guinea, hence the "two Guineas" tag. Maybe we should add Bulent Ecevit on this this thead as well and call it "Two Guinea Fools and a Turkey"
