Bit tacky.

What I mean is they surely didn't have a stack of them with the King on them. Therefore there must be some centenarians recieved a message from the dead Queen, or got no message at all.

Thats the graphic. The bit on the left is wrong though; as in life the Queen's name will precede that of Prince Philip. I was just thinking; they will have needed to replace the stone as if you look at the Queen Mother's inscription it takes up the whole space across. This would have meant the Queen's name would have to have been in a smaller text which would not do at all! If the vault is 18ft high, surely there is enough space to stack another two.

If you turn 100 this week, do you still get a card from the Queen?

Certainly room for 4 more names on the old stone. I did, however, see a graphic which suggests that the chapel is indeed now full. The caskets are stacked one above the other; the king and Queen on one side and the Queen and Prince Philip on the other. It may, however, be speculative as I doubt anyone other than the Royal family know what’s going on down there.

The Queen treated herself to a new headstone as the old one has been replaced but updated for herself and Prince Philip. No images yet. My understanding is that there was room for two more coffins down there so Charles and Camilla were intended to be interred. Perhaps the new stone - when we see the spacing - suggested they’ll have to go somewhere else.

The late Queen has rather inconsiderately ruined Margrethe’s Golden Jubilee twice by dying.

Interesting point. I think this is something generally which led to the Queen’s death. Many of her closest friends (and of course her husband) went on and on for years and years. Over the last 5 years or so the old team started dying off until there were less and less. Being old really is a cunt. Reminds me of my Granda and his drinking buddies. He survived most of them and spent his last couple of years just kicking about the house waiting for the inevitable. Anyway, I think the Queen and the Duke of Kent must have been relatively close as she chose for him to accompany her at he birthday parade at Windsor.

When Boris Johnson arrived for the funeral the BBC introduced him as something like “The prime Minister [gap] until recently”. I think even they momentarily forgot that Liz Truss was Prime minister.

It’s the novelty factor at the moment. Give it a year and it’ll be the King. Even Edward Vee one one one was referred to as ‘the King’ by the end of his short reign. Elvia achieved it almost overnight. The ‘Queen Consort’ thing keeps rumbling on too.

Yes, but these days the world looks for any reason to be offended or to find offence when none is intended. You, for example, will go to a great deal of trouble to find fault in the Royals because it makes you feel young and rebellious again, whereas we all know your just an old slag!

The women get as well. They just don’t tend to wear them. Women do get to wear the Order of the Monarch though, which men don’t get. Don’t hear you complaining about that inequality eh, eh? Mind you I can’t see Meghan getting that Order either; not because she’s a bit black, but because she is an arsehole.

The BBC made it clear they wouldn’t be saying too much over the ‘solemn’ coverage. I did note that at one point they referred to the Duke of York as the Duke of Kent, opening themselves up for some serious slander lawsuits…

I expect that the ex-US Presidents weren’t invited because if they invited one, they would need to invite them all…including 45. Surprising as they apparently had a good relationship with the Obama’s. I haven’t been keeping up with DL’s game of funeral invitation bingo, but my understanding is the reigning King of Spain will not be present. If that’s the case it makes sense for the former King of Spain - whose entire reign was within that of the Queen’s era - to attend to represent his nation.

If I recall they got round revealing an actual cause of death for the Queen Mother by registering it as ‘extreme old age’?

Some nutter apparently rushed at the Queen's coffin and attempted to lift the Royal Standard. My moneys on TQR trying to find out if shes in the box... It is a bit worrying though. One big push and you would have had a body and half the crown jewels all over the floor.

Lady Colin Campbell says she had something in her bones. She also announced the death early. She may well have made it up.
