Some of us are 4 times better than a donkey
-
Can't promise that, however I do have Horse in my name for a reason.........
-
1) People wearing tracksuits who clearly haven't done any exercise for over 10 years
2) Tourists on the underground who think a tube map at the top of escalators are designated meeting points
3) People who think Eastenders is quality television and a true depiction of life in the east end
4) Lazy/vindictive/rabble rousing journalism
5) Footballers who celebrate scoring like you would if you'd found a cure for cancer, won the lottery and saved the planet from certain destruction
6) TV executives who think anything requiring one iota of thought or featuring a semblence of culture is too highbrow
I've only been up half an hour, I'm sure some more things will annoy me later on

I did read the latest news, but being a miserable sod I couldn't think of anything to say that wasn't inappropriate or cantankerous.
Still, now I know there are 2 glamourous ladies with newfound freedom I might have to start smartening up my act!

What are you doing on here at past midnight? It's only the sad and desperate who do such things, you'd never catch me being that tragic.
Hang on........
Oh bugger.

I'm in London most of the year, but by a masterstroke I'm going to be in the good ol' US of A in October - I'm sure this meeting in October thing is done deliberately.
-
Thanks for the birthday wishes, people - just to reassure my non-existant fans, I am still around these parts but choose my postings carefully these days! It's either that or they've blocked Deathlist at work, one of the two........
-
Seem to be doing slightly better in the current test, however.
Probably time for some unseasonal rain in Wellington.
-
Great opportunity to play "join the dots" on her left thigh.....
-
The next match from Napier is due to start in 3 minutes - I trust everyone is glued to Sky/TMS in eager anticipation.

Anyone care to explain why he has Wizbit on his head? It's Spongebob Squarepants. Blimey, don't they teach these young'uns anything in school these days?;-)
I'm alarmed that Wizbit is now appearing in these nostalgia shows and such like - I didn't think my childhood was THAT long ago!
-
Bearing in mind that the national sport of Finland is a variant of baseball, have any Finnish players made it to the MLB ranks?

Anyone care to explain why he has Wizbit on his head?

But they'll be very polite about it.......
-
You were a loss to News at Ten, weren't you?
-
Japan would surely give them a run for their money? Provided all the MLB players hailing from Japan were allowed back, of course......
-
I'd be more than happy for the NFL to franchise out a team to us - they could call them the London Monarchs.....or maybe not.
I've never understood the whole booing of national anthems et al - didn't happen during the rugby world cup so I'm assuming it's just a football thing. I translated the booing for John Terry as a social comment on him bottling somebody in a night club and then getting let off because he's famous. However, I now understand that playing for Chelsea is much worse and he should be disembowelled immediately.

Well, I was in attendance at Wembley yesterday and I'm pleased to report that the popularity stakes were as follows:
1) Lewis Hamilton
2) Martin Johnson
3) The Miami Cheerleaders
4) The streaker
5) The Feeling
6) The Dolphins team
7) The Giants team
8) The military marching band at halftime
9) The Mexican Wave
10) John Terry
My personal favourite moment was John Terry getting simultaneously booed by 80,000 people, nicely juxtaposed between the huge cheers for Martin Johnson and Lewis Hamilton!
I think there was an American Football match in there somewhere as well......

Not looking good for him is it? Apparently he had both a radio & a mobile phone with him, so as the BBC news report put it, it's rather "ominous" he hasn't made any contact....Perhaps he's just on T-Mobile..........
-
And while this thread is resurrected, I picked the wrong Invincible in my team this year - Bill Johnston dies and I went for Sam Loxton instead - typical.

I got accosted by a Scientologist in Bournemouth once. Their opening line of "Could I just ask you a few questions" was followed by "What one thing would make you happier in life?". Apparently the answer "You pissing off and leaving me alone" wasn't the one they were looking for - I'll expect a entourage of cars outside my house any day now.......
-
Just to clarify, we have no desire to march into the Sudetenland, listen to Deutchland Uber Alles or ponce about in jackboots and silly hats. Apart from AtJ, of course, of does that kind of thing regularly. Oh yes, I believe Josco also voted for Mrs T once so maybe him too........
-
Well, thank you all. Not sure about the dubious moustachioed bloke but CarolAnn's picture of me is uncannily accurate.
Just off for a fish and chip supper at the parents house now, as there are some of you out there who will be interested, it'll probably be haddock.
I'll report back later, unless I've choked to death on a fishbone.
TFH - 32 and counting.........
-
I don't know about abused his welcome but I know people who welcome the abuse.
And aren't Mrs T and Mr TB the same person anyway? Both slightly more right wing than Sir Stanley Matthews.........

Thank you very much - sadly the only hangover I experience these days is the one over my waistband.......
