No news over the last few days (even Schumacher's doctors gave out some information every day for the first week or so), rumours of a deterioration, and people like Romain Grosjean and Alain Prost dropping hints that all is not well If the worst comes to the worst, I just hope it doesn't go the way of Bruce Jacobi, who was in a coma for 4 years after a NASCAR accident in 1983 before eventually dying

Marian Seldes has taken her last bow, finally falling into the Deathtrap I feel like we must have had a Broadway thread at some point, but can't find one, so feel free to move it

Official statement from Marussia and the Bianchi family: http://www.marussiaf1team.com/news/1035/ The following statement is provided by the family of Jules Bianchi, in conjunction with the Mie General Medical Center, and is distributed on their behalf by the Marussia F1 Team. “This is a very difficult time for our family, but the messages of support and affection for Jules from all over the world have been a source of great comfort to us. We would like to express our sincere appreciation. Jules remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi. He has suffered a diffuse axonal injury and is in a critical but stable condition. The medical professionals at the hospital are providing the very best treatment and care and we are grateful for everything they have done for Jules since his accident. We are also grateful for the presence of Professor Gerard Saillant, President of the FIA Medical Commission, and Professor Alessandro Frati, Neurosurgeon of the University of Rome La Sapienza, who has travelled to Japan at the request of Scuderia Ferrari. They arrived at the hospital today and met with the medical personnel responsible for Jules’ treatment, in order to be fully informed of his clinical status so that they are able to advise the family. Professors Saillant and Frati acknowledge the excellent care being provided by the Mie General Medical Center and would like to thank their Japanese colleagues. The hospital will continue to monitor and treat Jules and further medical updates will be provided when appropriate.”

According to Radio Monte Carlo (who, if you remember, first reported Schumacher's accident), Bianchi is now on a ventilator due to increased bleeding and may now need another operation. We could be here a while

He doesn't look too bad here, but god this is bleak

I was at Wembley on Saturday for the latest NFL game and Def Leppard were doing the pre-game show. I noticed that Vivian Campbell wasn't performing with the band - apparently his lymphoma, which was initially in remission last year, came back earlier this year and although he quickly returned to being in remission, he's now having a stem cell transplant and has taken a break from the band. One to keep an eye on

Twitter and various articles in Cyrillic seem to be indicating that 2006 Ukraine squad member Andriy Gusin/Husin has died in a bike accident

Notable as the first official World Rally Champion in 1979, and only the third to die overall after McRae and Burns. Another rallying star to die - we're at that point where lots from the 70s and 80s are dying now

Often see him at Torquay games as he lives in the area and still supports the club. Still pretty decent for his age. He'll be a big loss for us when he goes
-
First time I've seen him look as old as he is. Wonder if the court case has finally taken it out of him. Wouldn't be surprised if the bluff here is saying he's going to carry on - preparing the way for an announcement to be made in the next few weeks saying he's stepping down or something

Score just coming in - Death 1 James Alexander Gordon 0 No link yet but pretty much confirmed by BBC people on Twitter
