I think the error was mine with the spelling so it is understandable.

Bibliogryphon's Bookworm Food has 18 unique picks but if they all go the way of David Fisher the it is all hopeless. Very worried about Kate Wilhelm. My Unusual Suspects team has 13 Uniques including John Barton but I made a mistake I included William McPherson which Spade took to be the US novelist who died in 2017 when it was meant to be William MacPherson the judge who conducted the Lawrence enquiry. So I have Denise Bryer in my team. No complaints just an example of where your similar and obscure names can cause confusion.

According to Wiki Alicia Alonso born 1920 as per my team.

Though imagine the humiliation of picking areas of expertise like Doctor Who, House of Lords and cricket and being crushed into the ground by an American poster who had spent 15 minutes on Wiki.

SCAVENGER HUNT BINGO DEADPOOL RULES This is a new game and there is a prize but it may not be to everyone’s liking – You get to run the next game!!!!!! Each player picks five selections in each of five categories (for categories see below). There are three ways to win 1. You get at least one hit in each of the five categories 2. You get all five hits in one category 3. You get three unique hits across the whole game. There is no fixed duration you play until there is a winner. Obits will not be stringent (more akin to Deathrace requirements). However the Game Controller will be checking that picks meet the category criteria at the start of the game. A unique pick is considered unique in category. For example if two categories were Conservative MPs and Contestants on Strictly Come Dancing/Dancing with the Stars and three players picked Edwina Curry in the first category and the fourth player picked her in the second category. If she eggspired then Player 4 would get a unique bonus. As Game Controller I will not submit a team but when a winner is declared the Game Controller passes to the victor and they get to select the new categories. (However I shudder at Sir C’s picks of College Presidents and Baseball Players) The Categories for the first game are 1.Actors (generic term covering M & F) who have appeared in Doctor Who 2.Current or retired members of the UK House of Lords 3.Participants in the US presidential elections (Presidents, Vice Presidents First and Second Ladies, Challegners and their running mates) 4.International Test Cricketers 5.Artist who have had a UK No. 1 Hit single (either solo or as part of a group) Please PM me your teams to avoid revealing those unique picks. This will also help because I am going to China next week. Starting Date is 01 June 2016.

The reason I didn't enter the first one was because I wanted there to be a real winner. I did not intend it as a precedent and would happily accept a team from RA.
-
Entered now. I was hoping for a tie against YoungWilz in the first round. I just hope Phantom of the Midway scores a better goal than Lisa Magill to send me packing.
-
@Rotten Ali I hope you don't mind but if I do not hear from you before the end of the month I will open entries based on those already discussed and the actual start date will be 01st March 2018. I will admin and I hope YW will be looking over my shoulder. I realise people are busy and it was probably a bit mean to expect them to run the pool but the prize is to send everyone scrying into your topics of choice.

However even if one of the former presidents dies we may still end the year with the same number of former presidents.

Former RSC director John Barton is the first hit for my unusual suspects team. Wonder if he was unique.

These are the seventeen that I think would be best bets to equal the record. Picked 21 names on first run through so there is potential there. Kirk Douglas Leah Bracknell Herman Wouk Billy Graham John McCain Stirling Moss Tessa Jowell Bob Dole Leslie Phillips Jill Gascoigne Vera Lynn George H W Bush Pope Benedict XVI Neil Simon Denis Norden Jimmy Greaves Clive James

I'll keep mine Whoever they are.

Congrats msc but once again had no time to get into this competition this year. I liked the time it dragged on into summer. I managed to get some hits that year.

I listen to radio 4 more than I watch BBC news. Hewlett was a respected journalist and very good at his job. His cancer diaries were extremely moving. I agree he was not a household name but he was a significant figure in the UK media.

Baroness Olive Nicol dead at 94. She was a scavenger hunt pick.
