Looks like book has the next hit in Kay Starr..
BBC obit pending. Wiki says she's dead
I am seriously beginning to worry about Kay Starr getting a BBC obit. They have had over 12 hours The New York Times has it and the Washington Post but so far nothing on the BBC.
If Kay Starr can't get one I might be wasting my time with Dina Merill.
I presume everyone at the BBC is too excited by the US election and Brexit to bothter checking who has died recently.
They really are going to lose that Gold standard if they are not careful.
I hope it comes soon because I am flying out tonight.

Who do you have down as my joker as I don't seem to have recorded it myself?
If one isn't specified, I've taken it as the number one pick on the list, in your case, it's John Wakeham BiblioG.
Makes sense to me.

Yes.Question for Maryport: should a pool like this be run for December (Christmas) or should we just keep it to midsummer.
I think Maryport may be occupied with sorting out all the Deathrace entiries!
Are you proposing a sort of Advent Avalanche Deadpool or perhaps a Twelve Days of Christmas Deadpool to take advantage of those Festive Fallers in the slow news period between Christmas and New Year?
Although closer to all December instead of one week.
That is where the advent avalanche would be used see if we can get a hit before everyone packs up on Christmas Eve.
-
Entry sent with subs.
Thank you Maryport for your dedication in bringing us this exciting competition once again.
It should be televised it is certainly more exciting than golf.

My school might get cancelled tomorrow because a majority of students and staff are planning to go to the Cubs Parade.
Lucky you. Mines out tomorrow because of Parent Teacher Conferences.
OMG you are both still at school. How old are you? My daughter is older than you.
Do I qualify for a motor scooter yet?

Don't think anyone was complaining Deathray. I mean, it's absolutely clear that you will hardly ever update this thread right from the get go.
I'm sorry to see you go, it would be cool if you dropped by now and then, as I for one will miss ya.
I'll happily look after this from the new year if people want to keep it going and you don't mind.
If Deathray is retiring from the scene then I can think of none better to take the helm.
Thanks Deathray for playing in my various pools and I hope you stop by occasionally if only to check in on Scavenger Hunt Bingo where you are one of only two players to notch up three hits. All the best.

The referendum was advisory it allowed the people to express their will. Which was a marginal decision amongst those who bothered to vote to leave the European Union.
In order to leave the European Union the Government has to trigger Article 50 but in doing so will break the act of Parliament from 1973 which took us into the European Parliament.
The decision in the high court today was that to revoke that piece of legislation needs the consent of parliament. Some MPs will vote as their constituencies voted but that has to work both ways for example would Zac Goldsmith vote with the majority of Richmond voters who want to remain, but this vote will really allow Parliament to shape the type of relationship we want from the EU after we take our leave. It could be that enough Conservative remainers led by Ken (I have nothing to lose) Clarke actually resign the whip and thereby remove Theresa May's working majority in the House of Commons.
The High Court did not decide that Article 50 should not be invoked but that it requires the consent of parliament.
oh and the House of Lords!
Fun Time, could the parliament act not be used though?
Yes but they should take note of objections from the HoL at the first passing of the bill.
The Parliament act is for where there is an impasse.
It should not be used as a tool to avoid debate

Just a note for when you get round to updating any bios it says Estelle Harris was born in 2028.
-
Will Deathrace 2017 be opened in Deadpools or Extra curricular?
-
The Governement has just lost the high court challenge and the ruling states that the triggering of Article 50 needs the consent of parliament. The Government has decided to appeal and this will be heard at the beginning of December. If they lose the appeal then the date of 2019 is looking much less likely.

Obama was a good president, but both of the candidates in this election is SHITE!!!Yip. Hilary.
She couldn't handle losing to Trump and getting done by the Feds.
Hoor.
Her body will give up when her mind does.
In that case she might already be dead;) I hate both candidates for the record !
That would be ARE SHITE!!! I think you will find.
Or possibly EACH of the candidates in this election is SHITE!!!
Bit harsh on Jill Stein

Just watching Sky News and noticed that Adam Boulton is beginning to look like Patrick Moore
-
I just saw a clip of Martin McGuiness attending some sort of cross border meeting to discuss the implications of Brexit. He is beginning to look frail. Do we know of any underlying issues?
-
There is an interesting game on the BBC website where you can assign the swing states to each candidate.
I think that, whoever wins, they will be a one term president.
-
Grace Slick was 78 on Sunday.
She was born in 1939 so she's 77.
We have been discussing 2017 too much and I forgot we weren't already there.

I'm thinking Putnam and Kennedy maybe. Possibly outside chance of Victor Cannings. Probably a week to delve into the archives. Who knows, unless you're the Producer of the show.
I Don't think they will have both Putnam and Kennedy. One or the other.

He is not one who has been selected for this game but if any more follow suit I think we could be on course for an early election.
Which might mean Rover gets a victory.
Next time everyone will get 50 picks.
