  2. Idle speculation but...

When she finally dies will that involve making a worse noise than she does "singing" on some of her records?

You may be walking on thin ice there MPFC......

So, Fort took a 6-1 drubbing today; but their goal difference of -61 is still less than half as bad as that of winless Rothes who sit five points below them with a goal difference of -123. Make that SIX points below them to all intents and purposes, then.

Fucking hell. Did they lose 40-0 in a match or something?

Nah, but an eight goal drubbing is about par for their course. I'm still minded that Deathlisters should stay the course with the Fort, mind. This isn't a normal Rothes season.

Is there a relegation/promotion system in the Highland League. If so would Rothes/Fort be in contention to go down?

No, officials have scoured the planet but can't find a league sufficiently dire to accomodate the bottom teams in that division.

Seriously, I think myself and PB are the only posters hereabouts to have parted with cash to watch The Fort. Striker with a beer gut, pub football standards at best the one time I went. Ironically it was a home game with Rothes I watched, Fort lost 0-4.

If they do find one they might want the Villa to play in there as well.

Heres Mr Daniels in his prime. It's the last 30 secs when he does what all male celebrities did on Blankety Blank at the end. Stood up and pulled the blond into his face for a "kiss"........

Even Wogan wants to hit him with his microphone...

Mind you it's interesting to see that only Daniels and Watling are still alive from that panel. If I was Watling I'd be worried.....

    Bill Tidy is still alive.

  5. One of those 'surely to fuck I knew that' things.

The Monkees no 2 hit Alternate Title was inspired by Alf Garnet :wut: , originally called 'randy Scouse git'.

Why do I not remember this? I mind the song well enough.

Should be pinned in the Tony Booth thread in preparation imo..

This is probably my favorite Monkees song. Inspired by Mickey Dolenz fascination with British culture when he came across for a party held for the Beatles (The Four Kings of EMI sitting stately on the floor).

*snip*...I thought was based heavily on Stephen Donaldson's Thomas Covenant series. *snip*

No more Thomas Covenant. Please. The first three were good, the second three were pointless, and I have never read a more depressing set of books besides the Bible.

It is a shame people think of Covenant when Donaldson is mentioned his Mordant's Need and Gap series are some of the best books I have ever read. My wife though has read all 10 Covenant books. I gave up after three.

  7. The photo of him on the LBC site is a little worrying - definitely a bit jaundiced and reminds me of the Emperor from the Return of the Jedi. A 2017 possibility perhaps???

He has been busy paying tribute to everyone else over the past two months. Trying to raise his profile maybe?

  8. What is scary is the important decision seems to be reduced to a proxy war on who is going to lead the Conservative party.

Boris' decision is not altruistic he is positioning himself.

If the Out campaign lose he will graciously accept the will of the people and go back to being a loyal Conservative but if Out wins Cameron will have to go. It would be too humiliating to stay.

I just watched the debate on the Claire bryne show and I think the best candidate by far is Richard boyd Barret. What do you think and who do you think will win.

Are you having an election then?

Are you old enough to vote?

My comment may have been meant in jest but it was not until today that I saw any reference in the UK social media about the Irish Election which is disgraceful. If the vote was in France then half of the BBC news team would have been dispatched. A distinct lack of respect here for our closest European neighbors.

Might as well use this thread for updates on the world's second most-famous nun as well. Prayers are being asked, again, for the health of Mother Angelica, who is in a "delicate" condition and has apparently worsened significantly in recent days.

Ooh, I feel a debate coming on; is there any reputable way of identifying the world's most famous nuns? I mean, there might be one in India or somewhere who's a local hero to hundreds of millions and largely unknown outside of that land.

    Robbie Coltrane and Eric Idle?

  11.

Goodness, if it isn't exciting enough, they've only gone and changed the voting rules to make it more exciting! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35602473

Maybe if Graham Norton stopped sucking the life out of it commentary-wise, it might be the peak of annual television!

let's see how this will work......my country is back in the game but i don't have any hope in getting in the final.....

More likely cries across Europe (and Australia) in various languages of "WE WUZ ROBBED!" when the televotes come through.

UK get to pick their act on Friday on BBC4.

  12.

He is certainly a fat bastard! If he had a heart attack tomorrow and died I wouldn`t be overly shocked.Same with Robbie Coltrane Ian McNiece Nicholas Soames and Eric Pickles.

Aye, when you put it like that it's shocking they're all still drawing breath. Isn't there, like, something we could do - maybe a chubster series of The Jump on Channel 5, eh?

    The Roll or possibly Avalanche!
