Chinese dissident and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Liu Xiaobo has been granted medical parole after he has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Liu is 61 years old ; worth keeping an eye on him because the Chinese authorities won't anymore.

Several unoffficial reports now stating he is dead. His daughter confirmed earlier today that he did have a brain haemorrhage. Fergananews, which initially reported on his hospitalization, is also reporting the same. If true, good news is that a tyrant is gone, bad news is that this will leave a huge power vacuum and maybe a bad outcome.

Hey Guy, while I have your attention, off-topic but is this accurate? I am French Canadian so I don't have a clue. However... I know that Star Trek wasn't a big thing in France and that originally, no major French TV channels acquired the rights for the show. Also a fun fact... Star Trek was never dubbed in France French. In fact, the only French dubbing of Star Trek was done in Quebec French. Therefore, when Star Trek started airing in France in the early 80s, it was dubbed in Quebec French which is quite unusual.. usually it's the opposite.
