These two artists died on January 23: In 1986 German performance artist Joseph Beuys died of heart failure in Düsseldorf at the age of 64. I really can`t stand his so-called art. In 1989 Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí (also) died of heart failure in Figueres at the age of 84. As a child some of his paintings (especially the elephants with the thin long legs) scared me a lot.

Can you imagine how much whining there would have been about his long coma from DDP players if it (and this forum) had been around then? Haha! Yep. Maybe Schumacher will do the Sharon who did the Wilson.

Again 30 years ago, American soul singer Jackie Wilson died at age 49. During a show in September 1975 he collapsed on stage from a heart attack and fell into a coma until his death nine years later! Two years after his death an animated video of “Reet Petite” was released which became very popular. The song reached No.1 in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands and top10 all over Europe.

I really like being a part of the game. Thank you TMIB for your great work! I have one unique pick in my main team (Oscar Pistorius) and 11 in my theme team! But I think that less than the half of those picks will get an UK orbit We will see! By the way: It's not "a German celeb team" - there are also Swiss and French people in there! The common ground is the German language, anyway...

    Luise Rainer

As long as if it’s ok that we talk a little off topic, you can ask me anything you want! I like your interest in German TV/movie actresses, what is it all about? Do you have German origins? You also can tell me by pm if you like. Sophie Schütt, who will turn 40 in March, is better known as an actress in TV series than in movies. I cannot name a single movie of hers. I can’t imagine that she once had a leading role in a (cinema) movie. But she had her own TV series called “Typisch Sophie” (“Typically Sophie”), which aired in 2004/06 and included 18 episodes. I think that it was well received by the audience. She is mostly playing in romantic comedies with happy endings (TV series or TV films), I guess. Going back to topic: Last July the City of Düsseldorf honored Luise Rainer with a “Stern/Star” to keep her in rememberance. The headlines says: “Most-unfamous superstar Luise Rainer is honored with a “Stern/Star” in front of the Filmmuseum”. If I will come along one day, I will take a picture of this nice gesture. http://lust-auf-duesseldorf.de/unberuhmtester-superstar-luise-rainer-mit-stern-vor-filmmuseum-geehrt/

John "Jay" Trayner, the first singer of Jay & the Americans, died yesterday of liver cancer at age 70. In 1962 the group hit the Billboard charts at No.5 with "She cried". Trayner left the band after two less successful singles, but the greatest time for the band was still to come with the new singer David "Jay" Black... http://wnyt.com/article/stories/S3267379.shtml?cat=300
