World's second-oldest man has died. It's gonna be a long jump downwards when Del Toro goes.

Biggs still chatting away in prison.

Pinter unable to attend function for health reasons. He's packing it in slowly. How slowly, however, is anyone's guess.

I wonder why we can't see his actual video obit. "Hi I'm Art Buchwald and I just died." What a great last line. This should link you to it. If not, enter "Buchwald" in the video search engine and you'll find it in four parts.

The deal with him (if memory serves me correctly) was that he was born on the same day as a Haley's Comet appearance and died on the next appearance. Not only that, but he predicted it too.

Are you sure it wasn't to create one for "bearded twat?" In any case, I think it's a bit optimistic. From the program I saw the other day, he's even got trouble blinking now. Senior citizenship will not be kind to him.

Sounds familiar.

And now, site update for Julie Winnefred Bertrand (and I actually checked to make sure it was only the three who picked her...)

Already mentioned in "The Dead" thread, but here's a link for the death of the world's oldest woman. CPDP points forthcoming.

While we're on it, I believe the man deserves his exclamation point. [Done! -- MH]

I think it's likely that I'll just ignore the age limit, particularly for the reason that there's not a whole lot of animals that are reasonable picks. Also, as you mentioned, the obit requirements are tough for a normal team, so you may be restricted to picks like Koko the Gorilla et al. For the Theme Team, they need only be mentioned in an online news source, and since there are plenty of racing journals and whatnot, I'm sure a Theme Team could be well pulled off. I like the idea of a "preserved after death" bonus - taxidermied animals, people who are mummified, cryogenically frozen, even stuffed like that one fellow who wanted to attend university board meetings after his death - could all be worth an extra point. Anyhow, site updated to reflect the death of Art Buchwald. Sorry to be difficult CP, but Art wasn't a unique pick for Handrejka..... Don't want to blow my own trumpet, but I picked him as well. Whoops. How'd I miss that? I'll get right on it. EDIT: Sorted now.

Congrats to TF too, who will soon be in 1st place in the RDP with his fifth hit!

Speaking of people I was surprised to find alive! I justed started a "Decisions in the Public Sector" course and we were reading up his work for the "ancient history" part of the course!

Some interesting choices, but since I've been put to shame with my spelling today, I'd like to pass the torch and mention that it's Martin Landau, Karla Homolka and Magic Johnson. Trust me, it's better that I point them out than others here. I'm merely a gentle prodding. Merv Griffin and Christopher Lee (although I'm sure Christoher was a typo ) Yes, the Christopher was a typo. But, hey, at least I was close with most of them. & I should've known the Homolka one. Fidel Castro. Now you're just doing it on purpose, aren't you?

The Biblical Flood seems a good candidate. regards, Hein I'd likely be the putz who picked Noah.

The Weatherman Death Pool
Canadian Paul replied to weatherman90's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Just to make sure I'm crystal clear - you're only allowed one team of 10 people, but if those 10 people happen to have something in common, then bonus points may be involved, correct? -
Probably a combination of the DDP boys being too busy to notice/forgetting that they were in the competition and no one stepping up to tell them about it.

He has transferred hospitals, but is having significant speaking difficulties.

A third has died - France's Rene Riffaud.

The iraqi hangings don't mean sh*t. It was an obvious ticket, there was no death scouting talent there, far as i'm concerned those two hits will be the only hits half of the teams get who listed them. First of all, I only picked one, I was referring to Robert Anton Wilson, who was another one I missed. Second of all, my response can be found in the Saddam Hussein thread, where these two posts should be moved.

Damn, and he got a real, Telegraph UK obit too. Not that I expected to win this year, but I could have had three hits by now...
