Thanks for using spoiler tags. I well remember discussions I had about the morality of that incident. For reasons I explained in our topic for that, I am no fan of executing people, and I wasn't then. After some thought about the circumstances of the Romanian revolt, I decided that this was a spotless implementation of the answer to question 103 of General Bayo's One hundred fifty questions to a guerrila and consequently not so bad. The Romanian revolution was violent, but the execution of the Ceaușescus helped ending hostilities considerably and so averted more deaths. This gory episode may not have been a Good Thing, it certainly was the Right Thing. I don't doubt this account of flexible morality will give you food for thought, should you need any in these days dedicated to digestion of a more physical nature. regards, Hein

oh, so you're one of those artistly types are you? Do you use paint or magic marker when drawing this line? Crayon, I think. regards, Hein

Urgh, I thought he was dead. Dutchmen who know his noise often call him ''James Overlast'', after the Dutch word for nuisance. He's still alive and put out an album 3 years ago. I had a glance at his discography, I'm amazed at how much he's churned out. My uncle Henk owned more than a dozen of his records and wasn't afraid to use them. Mind that this was in the 70s. As a matter of fact, Last's output was popular enough in the Netherlands that he made an LP especially for the Dutch market. It contains Dutch folk tunes strangled potpourri style. Here's a sample. WARNING: Don't click without a bucket at hand. regards, Hein

Who was fucking Terry in Moscow? I think we should be told. Who, and why. I suppose that fucking in Moscow is no worse than in any other European capital, but I don't really know, I never tried. regards, Hein

I did a Google search on him and found nothing like a death notice. His trail goes cold in the 1950s. It's possible he's still alive aged 101, but that's very unlikely. I can only suggest an enquiry at the Football Association of Indonesia, although I doubt they can be of assistence, considering that their website is currently offline. Strange coincidence: Indonesia are currently ranked 159 on the FIFA ranking, just after Curaçao, a caribbian nation still part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. regards, Hein

Ach, schade. The good news is: if he gets a DDP approved obit, that'll be a data point on the question if Corry Brokken is a good new joker for my theme team. regards, Hein

Next question, who decided who the committee was? The Committee, obviously. regards, Hein

I would be surprised if he didn't. Guardian, Sky and Beeb covered his cancer relapse. Cricket World Cup year in 2015, in his homeland. DDP approved obit a cert. Cheers. Cricket gets next to no attention in Dutch media, so I had to ask. I think I've decided on my DDP joker. regards, Hein

I'd say the young interviewer stands a better chance of buying the farm in 2015 (from embarrassment) than the interviewee. regards, Hein

He has now rejected further chemotherapy. From a deadpooling point of view, one more dose would have been the considerate thing for him to do. Read an article from Martin Crowe on ESPN cricket app and it rather read like an announcement that he's counting down the days. "Death is something I have contemplated lately, only because the medical experts say it's nearly time" & ".... turbocharged to apparently give me very little time to live (only 5% of patients live up to 12 months)....." are two of the more obvious reasons to very definitely pencil him in on my list 2015. Indeed. One question remains: will he get a DDP approved obit? regards, Hein

Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets

Well, that's over, unfortunately with the loss of two innocent lives. I don't think it was particularly terrorist. This is your brain on religion. regards, Hein -
Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets

The police stormed into the flat and have arrested up to three people, according to the Beeb. Authorities said the incident was not linked to terrorism. Local media said it may have involved drugs. ETA: Belgian news sources now report that no hostage taking has taken place, but that an 18 y/o man made it up when he made an alarm call to the police and that the people who were nicked are inhabitants of the buiding who had nothing do with it. regards, Hein -
Do you mean that shooting and eating one lion is ok? Not really. Just half as bad as killing and eating two lions. So it'd been better if he'd shot and eaten half a lion. regards, Hein
