Welcome to DeathList, Pedro. I have reason to believe your lurking wasn't completely silent. :-) Well done. May your predictions turn out to be good ones. You're doing fine. I look forward to your contributions. regards, Hein -
Disappointing, considering the La Pasionaria's slogan ¡No pasarán! regards, Hein

30 DDP team captains are pissed off that he couldn't hold on for just one day, to give them 5 party pooper bonus points. regards, Hein

Let me see. You posted a URL: [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7RMDZqBrjCI#"]http://www.youtube.c...&v=7RMDZqBrjCI#[/url] which is a URL link to a Youtube video, embellished with extra bits I don't immediately understand. Interesting, using the URL BBCode like this: [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RMDZqBrjCI[/url] will embed the video in the post: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RMDZqBrjCI as if you had used [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RMDZqBrjCI[/media] My advice is using the second format. Hope this helps. Very educational video, BTW. regards, Hein

For those who want to check: here's a video of the interview. Difficult to say. I didn't know that, but apparently his sister and father succumbed to cancer. The linked article doesn't specify the cause of his mother's death. I've seen him on the telly in the last few days. He's skinny as ever, but looks fine. He's not on my DDP Low Countries Theme Team. regards, Hein

I just saw an interview with Andy Fordham on the box, made today at the PDC World Championship. He's as fat as he ever was, but looked and sounded ok-ish. His health was discussed. He said he's not a well man, but something along the lines of "as good as can be expected". Apparently he's off the booze. Dutch darts commentator Co Stompe, when asked if Fordham would ever return to competitive darts, added that he sees Fordham at exhibitions regulary and that at such occasions he hardly manages to play two consecutive legs. Not a well man indeed. regards, Hein

So he died young and with his boots on. That's the way. regards, Hein

She's been released and lives in a convent in Malonne in Wallonia.Last week she was spotted in Flemish seaside resort Knokke, where apparently she had a haircut by an expensive barber, causing all sorts of dismay and political trouble. regards, Hein

From the facts that 21 December 2012 has passed throughout the world and that I am typing this, we can conclude that the executive branch of The End Corporation[1] performed to expectation: piss-poorly. I don't blame those poor Mayan astronomers for this abuse of their somewhat overblown calendar system. As this was about the sixth time I've survived it, I expect the next End of the World as We Know It to be announced soon. [1]Fully owned by Fleece a Flock, Inc, a joint venture of New Age Heavy Industries, San Francisco USA, Mammon Financial Services, Vatican City, Golden Calf Investments, Jerusalem and Prophet Enterprise, Mecca. regards, Hein

Not particularly good at reading, are you? The caption of that video reads: For your convenience I've bolded the information pertinent to the subject. regards, Hein

The die is cast. I just sent in my DDP 2013 main team, The Grey Horde. Now it's research time for my theme team. regards, Hein

That's possible as in impossible, I'd say. My prediction: a short prison sentence. regards, Hein

Emiliano Mercado del Toro, born 21 August 1891, oldest from 11 December 2006, died 24 January 2007. regards, Hein

and Well, that's that settled. Meanwhile I did a bit of statistical analysis on the wisdom of picking the world's oldest for DDP. I ran all of them from 1985 till now through a spreadsheet and the following numbers came up: Average tenure as world's oldest: 337 days Median tenure as world's oldest: 207 days (the difference is so big, because Jeanne Calment held the title for 9 years and 206 days) A hit if picked:17 from 26 years. (1986, 1987, 1988, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002,2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012) Picking the next oldest would have yielded a hit in 7 from 26 years (1987, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012) ETA: Here's a graph of the lenght of tenure of the world's oldest: My conclusion is: picking the world's oldest is a pretty safe bet, even though he or she gets you few points. Only two of them managed to survive through one calendar year or more, aformentioned Mrs Calment and María Capovilla. Mr Kimura will be on my DDP team. All men who held the title (2) died within a year. regards, Hein

Only conventional treatment That's effectively the same. regards, Hein

Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?
Magere Hein replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Where to start ..... AFAIK positions on gun ownership by private citizens don't correlate with literacy, but this poster makes one wonder. To our American patriot: I have no say in what rights you do and don't have. It's simple: gun-related violence is a fact of US society. If the Americans think it's a problem they must find solutions themselves. If they don't think it's a problem they'll have to live with some of their children being shot at school regularly. Those things will not go away by ignoring them. regards, Hein -
Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?
Magere Hein replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
No it isn't. There's little doubt that the fact that gun-related mortality is so high in the US compared to other western nations[1] is caused by the fact that any fool in the US can buy a gun legally, and does. I'm well aware of the fact that limiting legal gun ownership will not eradicate this kind of mass murders. The man who killed six people in a shopping mall in Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands last year did so with guns he owned with a government permit. There's also the issue of illegal gun ownership. [1] For a comparison see this Wikipedia page. The only western European country that comes close is Switzerland, another country where guns are widely available. regards, Hein -

Many more. Even if the US would actually put serious restrictions to firearm ownership by citizens, it'll take decades to actually disarm them. regards, Hein -
